Cynical was an example =), ther are others out there who are more fit for ther place for one Rejected basers would be better for TWLB then -Solstice-, and Egyptian woulda been better for TWLJ then Faded...the fact remains that so many of u were fighting for COMPETITION b4 which cynical would bring over all others now, but now u are all goin for the STABLE squads isnt it ironic...but i'd agree go w/ the Stable which i said b4

and i also agree unless someone gave a good reason for conferences it is useless, the best 8 teams arent in TWL playoffs..yes they give it a dinamic look w/ 2 conferences but unless u implied a wildcard spot maybe a 5th playoff spot..give the #1 seed in the season a by week..that would be the reward for winning the season...have the 5th,6th,7th,8th team fight for that wildcard spot maybe by a 1 day tourny? or something...or make it only 5th and 6th fightign for that spot (in each conference) if u keep conferences, if u dont keep them then just take the top 8 from each and there u go sorta like last years TWLB

I agree with face. Cut down the league to like 10 teams and have a league where the top teams play semi or quarter final or whatever since you are all so very found of PLAYOFFS.

well i think slowbob still ha the best system ever , TWL top tier witht he best 10 squads or 8 or watever u prefer and twl lower tier with the worst 8 , then at the end of each season top 3 go up and bottom 3 go down .... i know we have at least 8 competitive teams .... and for the other 8 they go to twl bottom tier... this would involve the exact same amount of games as having 2 conferences ... would boost up competitivity a whole lot and there would never be blowouts...

and new squads however good they might be like cynical , should always start from bottom tier

Since more squads will come up if not already did why not have 3 tiers = 24 squads(maybe 18-20 in basing) this would give more squads a chance to play scheduled matches. Matches should be less one sided b/c squads get to play somewhat their level opponents.

We don't need more squads in the league, enough squads are breaking up or dropping out already.

i liked the 2 tier system, muchos better then the conference system since we don't even get to play against pallies.

also with play offs u could so something nice like letting the first 6 squads from the first tier go thru, and the first 2 from the second tier.

Conferences are stupid if there are no wildcards. You're simply punishing the teams with difficult schedules.

Cut back on the number of squads (say to 12 or 14) and every team plays each other. In addition, decide ties with a tie-breaker match (for playoff spots) or head-to-head (for seeding).

That reminds me of another issue that I wanted to bring up. Preseason: Captains of the three-league squads essentially set the conferences. Preseason, however was basically random, right? Next season, if there is preseason, use that time to schedule matchups we won't see during the season.

no bram , the playoffs will be the top 4 top tier teams for the TWL upper tier title , and top 4 bottom tier for twl bottom tier title... makes no sense sepparating tiers in regular season and merging them in playoffs

just think of soccer leagues , u have 1st division and 2nd division ... they never play each others

that would sorta suck for a squad like Cripples who are better then a low tier squad and dotn care enough for a high tier squad...upsets happen and close games between good squads and the so called "sucky" squads what make the season interesting if u eliminate that factor thats no good...look Cripples suck in TWLD but the past 2 seasons we beat Elusive...upsets hapen, plus its fun to play even the squads u know will rape u

if you don't care enough to be higher tier, then you would have nothign to complain about if you were a lower tier team.

My only problem with the 2-tier system suggested is that the bottom teams on the top teir automatically drop down. I think they should be given a chance to fight for their spot against the champion squads of the lower tier.

I don't know about the 2-tier system. Personally I think (from watching Premier League SVS and Euro League from years past) that multi-tier systems tend to really split up the talent.

It creates situations where people are for sure more interested in their own tier and there's more rivalry but at the expense of having no interest in the other tiers whatsoever. In fact as Premier league has shown us, the multi-tier league can even cause unnecessary trash talking and unfounded misgivings between the different tiers. I don't think it would be wise to facture the community in a way such as this. As well it can cause an even larger skill gap between the tiers as teams in the lower tier know they have no chance of winning the "real" title or even getting to play the best teams, many good players won't leave upper tier teams.

For a game where people are playing for fun (and not for money as in real life), it's always good to have more teams being able to play eachother in a real serious league setting (unlike TWD which is regarded as practice). By restricting the skill levels in league, a lot of people will miss out on what "true" league competition is.

And finally don't forget that this adds an extra level of adminstration and buercracy to the league and I don't think anyone running the league wants even MORE work.
