when the yankee's play the mets they are both really playing at home. On the other hand, maybe your schedule could have a certain amount of games on each map.. But good point indeed by you.

as long as the maps are approved somehow or fall within certain restrictions

the problem i foresee is that with all the petty bickering that goes on in the leagues, is agreeing on whats acceptable for the maps

as for getting playing time on other squads maps...shouldnt be mandatory, after all that would be the point of a home field advantage right?

and bosshawk ur rite...the advantage of home field is the other teams not playing in that arena/stadium alot like the home team...so it shouldnt be mandatory...but i think that i'd be nice

and if each squad hasta choose from 4-5 maps im sure everyone would know what they are anyway

It's been discussed before and I still love the idea. Only thing is that someone would have to make up good rules on how much the map could be changed so that we don't see too radical maps.

its a great idea except 2 things:

1) very time consuming cause then each team has to play 2 games to every other team (home/away)
2) i got this funny feeling that most squads are goin to choose a map which they are able to cram with

I think this is an awesome idea. For all the people are say that it wouldn't be fair for some teams and they would have to play 2 games for each team for it to be fair, that's part of competitive play. The scheduling would have to be worked out for an even number of home/away games, which would make it fair. As long as every team has an equal amount of home games and away games, the advantage of having different maps kind of equals out more.

Some people might argue that for example A-S could beat Diso on A-S map, but Diso could beat A-S on Diso map and if they meet only once during a season then home teams get the advantage for the season in that particular matchup. HELLO!!! that's what home team advantage is all about.

I like the idea, but you really gotta start making and testing the maps already now, it will be very time consuming.

I love the idea, but again, with what Jonas said, don't allow players to change the layout of the base. Perhaps allow a different lower base, or spawn area layout. Any pictures or whatever outside the parameter.

This idea makes me really nervous, actually- it seems like the payoff could be huge but it could also be a chaotic fuck-up. And we don't have that much time. Maybe we should save this for TWL9, and just try different colours for the tilesets and/or a squad logo somewhere for TWL8?

Ok, I have got a little idea about map changing. It's only an idea and it's probably not the best idea but i'll let u decide. Since, according to some , basing has become a bit boring , i thought of this. Each TWL squad would choose a basing map out of a group of basing maps and what not and even can change the colors or what not and make it like their "home" map. So say spastic chose the normal map and added a logo or what not on it. Then during leagues or whatever if u had a home game u would use that map. Each team would have the map chosen before the season. So some teams could have cram friendly maps and other's have line friendly maps and so on. I guess it would make teams be more dynamic and play different styles. I don't know if I actually like this idea but just one i thought of. I think it would add alittle flavor to basing. So let me know what u think..

I like the idea, but I think it should be a separate League. TWL should stay as it is, but it's worth giving it a shot as something extra.
