Question is, do teams need to dedicate their free time to showing to basing games vs. Criminal if this trade goes through? What's the point. It's going to waste everyone's time.

The trade deadline was moved up so teams couldn't dump an entire line after they had already qualified, but there was a never a rule against it line dumping or focusing efforts in certain leagues. The idea was to move the trade deadline up, so if people did dump their line, they would have a tough time qualifying.

this is accurate, because i was league op at the time.

tiny dumped his entire basing line week 5 at the deadline of the 2016 season and stacked wb/jav after getting a bunch of basing wins to qualify for the playoffs. i passed his trades, but it seemed like a really awful strat to allow going forward, so i moved the trade deadline up the following season.

the idea is that if you dump your entire base line i can't stop you, but you don't get those free base wins to qualify then dump your basers to teams that miss the playoffs.

the late trade deadline was really not fair to player's with captain's like Tiny, who would dump guys who helped him make the playoffs to non-playoff teams to stack 2 leagues and ditch 1.

there's nothing in the rules forcing caps to compete in all 3 leagues, it's just an unwritten etiquette thing. captains should try to be competitive in all three, but tiny has long been an extremely Machiavellian captain who views his players as pawns and doesn't care about social norms (whether tiny should be allowed to cap TWDT is a different conversation all together).

I think the trade looks okay actually. Both teams benefit. The problem Afghan will have is that, in improving Tiny's line, he gifts a qualification rival possible wins in a league in which they may have forfeited. He also gifts Tiny a free basing victory against himself, which heads-up equates to two points. Afghan has only won 3/12 games, however, so I think this trade and specialisation is a risk worth taking. He is lucky there is a captain willing to trade a player of Kado's calibre.

Sucks that a team is throwing the towel in 1 league after 2 weeks. 15-0 or forfeits ain't no fun.
Not sure we could deny trades because of that decision tho

I agree the trade should be 2 for 2 to make it more fair.. Mark is far too good in shark imo.
Add a 2nd round free agent pick or spectacular/tucker/big Sean?

My 2 cents worth, no offence intended to any players involved:

For clarity I offered a pair of mediocre javs for mark week 2 and suggested to afghan regardless of weather or not he took the trade he should give up on basing. He drafted very few basers and that won't get him any wins unless someone forfeits to him, or he trades for a bunch of basers. I understand where the thoughts are with this trade, Tiny needs basers that will actually show up, henry and mark both very active basers. Afghan wants to strengthen his javelin line at the expense of his hopeless basing line.

I think kado is more is a more useful spider. Henry appears to only care about rec. I often see him in BD's ignoring the safety of his terr, while sitting behind said terr shooting across the flagroom. Mark, as long as he isn't drinking too much hes a solid shark choice. As far as I know both these players only play base.

Kado is a good jav and spider (never seen him wb) apparently he can wb too. I think this trade would FEEL more balanced if tiny offered up a second player even a crappy one.

This is a hard one to voice opinion on, I understand the why and I am not against the trade. it will seriously hurt afghan if kado does not show up though.

I have season tickets to the Giants who are actually not performing well at all, I decided to sell them 1 week later. Cripple was actually going to pick me #1 in the draft regardless and he eventually did indeed get me. Not sure what your angle is though, I would play for any team...did you want me? Most likely not.

i think you are spitting accusations out when I gave my analysis on the trade, we can disagree on things you know. Do you want everyone to agree what you say or think, if so you are living in fantasy island bud. I still like you though but you need to lower your tune.

Umm, no, not really. It's the captain's prerogative, just like it is who to field in a match, up to the limitations in the rules. If a team thinks they can get enough wins just playing 1 league, good for them, go for it. I'm not sure what you're trying to say or do, but to me it sounds like you don't understand captaining at all. And all this is irrelevant to the matter at hand.
