Week 5
Ok let's make a full regular season of HoNs happen, at least for one league. Trying game-by-game format this week.
This game wasn't really important, and did not have an effect on elimination, final standings or even tie-breaks. Nonetheless Legio won in dominant fashion. Good luck to Terrorist if they want to win even a semi-final. dreamwin will have to shipswitch to levi for that.
HOT: kado (61-20, 3 TeKs). 3 TeKs this week and in general kado is looking like one of the best 8-stars already.
HOT: FalconPunch (68-28). With this, all of Legio's mainline has gotten a Hot. The scary part for the other teams is that they all deserve it.
HOT: Mikkiz (28-0, 4 TeKs).
NOT: Burnt (13-11). You boarded the red ship for the terrorists but burnt it into a black crisp.
NOT: spacedust (31-62).
Despite their collective base record being like 14:07 - 150:00 Silence DOES have good basers among them. I just don't know why they couldn't ever achieve any results.
Thunder recouped themselves after running into a lightning rod against Legio's lances last week. The sky was mildly cloudy and they only needed the electrical current of about a 25W light bulb or a small kitchen appliance to win this competition. Ogron achieved 5 Teks.
HOT: Major Crisis (14-54, 3.0RPD and 1 TeK). Second part of the highest rated and most winning shark duo this DT.
HOT: Undercut (72-24, 2 TeKs). Kill leader and TWL leader.
NOT: Owl <ZH> (33-42). There were a lot of problems in Silence but let's place staff as the scapegoat once again, that's easier right?
This was the match of the week and it was pretty much for a playoff spot. Both teams started from an identical position of 13 total wins. There was one more game after this but it was from an underdog position for both. So this game would heavily (but not entirely) determine the elimination. In case of a tiebreak Power wins over Gladiator, because they are better in wb and javelin. Thunder was also at 13 wins but in a game against a considerably weaker opponent, Silence.
Power came very close to winning, but Gladiator held down strong despite a weak 3rd and 4th week with only 2 wins in each. Gladiator's team looked solid all around, even opting to bench Tripin for a 7-star spider.
HOT: nowon (129-67). Nice job defeating your biggest challenger for a playoff spot!
NOT: LaSenza (51-64, 1 TeK). Maybe you should've switched this guy to warbird. Or to a different arena.
Absolutely riveting match. kado was added. Then Mikkiz was added. In a surprise move, rodney was added before Mythril. They exited the spawn zone in pre-game warmup. Exhilarating.
Silence's only hope was that Mythril somehow submits an illegal line and forfeits the match, but the roster only has Mikkiz, Mythril and 25 8-stars, so it didn't happen.
HOT: RoboBot.
NOT: Silence.
If Gladiator lost this game AND Power won theirs against Terrorist, Power would advance over Gladiator. In other words this was an important match.
The teams were very evenly matched but Gladiator lacked the killer instinct to clinch the win. The spiders fucked it up a bit at the end and got surprised by Thunder's Ease, Solace and JAMAL, who rushed the terr on flag. How dare SpookedOne hang around dangerously around the middle of the flagroom.. with 14:50 on the clock for Thunder. This was the thought process of Gladiator's spiders at least. The other TeKs of the match were mainly handed in by rozay, with 3 in total.
HOT: Solace (103-67).
NOT: SpookedOne (24-7). Bit too many deaths here.
This was Power's last chance to advance, and they came dramatically close. Take it as reassurance that you gave it your all.
Terrorist finally terriered someone other than Burnt and it was Zizzo. He zapped zidane to another zone.. or something.
Power 2019 utilized 100% of their 9+ star players weekly unlike the other teams. This made them a scrappy fun team to root for in my book. With this match though their tournament came to an end.
HOT: cripple (142-66, 1 TeK). Eliminated his old team in cold blood.
HOT: Zizzo. Sizzling 49-5 and 2 TeKs.
NOT: Heaven (22-10). R.I.P. Or as zidane puts it, Removed Indefinitely from Power. :/
