    Nerd sheets are back!

    Thanks for doing this again! I took a quick look, mainly focusing on Terrorist's stats and my own. K-D seems to be way off in team stats and my individual wb stats at least.

            Kassius Nope, just the right combination of win%, KO, and K/D.Generally if you play well statistically while winning, you get a good rating. You can see the rating formula top left corner of the sheet. After I get a more data, a few seasons worth, I will revisit the rating formulas and see what I can do with them without making them complicated.

                  Just a quick glance I was confused as to why I was so low. It looks like my RPD are remarkably off but not sure where the issue is. Just FYI.

                      Could you do a rating based on *s? Might be nice to people of the same rating compared a) for rating adjustments b) it doesn’t do justice comparing a 7* wb to 10* wb. In a star system value isn’t as straight forward. In the future this could also help with trades when there is a valuable 7* compared to overrated 9*s for example. I’m sure I’m missing other reasons like making lower stars feel more valuable and wanting to get better etc etc. food for thought.

                      and yes I know you can sort by *s, but when the max 7* wb has like a 40 rating? Doesn’t look so nice. This is for twdt rating on site too.

                        of c nix what i just said as the bigger problem is with using rating/ranking in such a way as to encourage the idea that stats of any kind constitute a reliable indicator of performance and player impact - ideas of the sort which are likely a huge reason why such a great many people have so very little sense of how to optimally navigate the macrogame as a spider in any given situation

                        one can only imagine the vastly superior state the meta would be in if we were to not track stats at all

                          Poseidon I sort it by star rating for DT first, then by my rating system second. That way you can compare yourself to other players of the same rating. This is why you are rated so low, because you are one of the lowest rated players that have played shark this season.

                          If I sorted it just by my rating system you would be about half way up the list.

                            A few comments on the rating formula for javs:

                            *7 is too high a premium for a win. You can still play well and lose.
                            *Kills should be worth 2, and deaths -1. Ratio is vanity; deaths are inevitable in a lost game; total kills is the true measure of impactfulness.
                            *With the exception of R4s kills, which should only be worth 1. An R4 is essentially a complete stray or missed shot, which perhaps has some utility in a kind of "infuriating factor" - but ultimately demonstrates an inefficient use of energy. Conversely, R1+R2s demonstrate pushing, teaming, bulleting, positional domination, acute skill and avenge-killing - all the things that, if universalised, produce better teams.
                            You come at the King, you best not miss.

                              MHz I never thought about putting range of kills into the equation, R4 are generally strays and not a bad idea to give lesser or even no points for. R1 could be considered pushing, but an argument can be made some of them are considered suicide kills. It's a good idea, I will certainly put range into the equation when I rework the ratings.

                              7 points for a win being too high: My thought process on that is, in the end winning really is all that matters, and this avoids people just playing for rec, since they will not likely win as much. You are probably right here as well though, 7 is too high, I was already planning on nerfing this to 5, it still might be too high though.

                              I plan on having another look at the ratings after I have a few seasons of data. I am currently working on a "career nerd sheet" sort of thing, which is a huge part of the reason I started this project up. This season is almost done, which will mean I have 3 seasons of data in there (seasons 19, 21, 22). Maybe I can make an attempt when this season is over. When I do I will reach out for input from the community for sure.

                              I am at the merci of upper staff to send me more seasons, which is a pain in the ass request I'm sure the database is a mess. I know they are busy people, and recently sent me season 19. Hopefully they can find the time to send me more soon.
