I agree, it was more so just to not re-do it and just to have some sort of proof that it actually was randomized.. He realized it was cut off on the last roll you can hear in the audio

Mongrel was rated 6.5 in basing last season and played zero basing games total. He definitely has improved in basing but bumping him more than 1 full star felt like a huge overkill IMO.

Iron was a 7.5 last season and finished some what middle of the pack for his star rating. 9 games played 3 wins for basing with a 1.29 KPD ratio. It wasn't quite strong enough to bump up although I think he's probably somewhere in the middle of 7.5 - 8* based on his stats. Two 10* baser's signed off on him being 7.5* for this season

he didn't play because I didn't have the stars on my team to take advantage of his low rating, he needed to be better than my 7.5* players (Hellzno and Banzi). I played them because banzi was a pretty good under, and hellzno lagged like crap. Almost every cap tried to trade me for mongrel and I refused because he was really underrated, he was going 2:1 in every bd so it's very possible he should have been added above those other two and I should have just played below the cap.

He should be an 8 with tax 100%

Why is this okay? I get that maybe it helps to not allow good players on other teams, but this is a game. I'm not sure if zid is saying Mongrels rating should be increased or not.
It's currently 7.5 without tax and 8 with tax.
I'm saying it should be 8 without tax and 8.5 with tax.
zid said 8 with tax, which is no change, but made the case for Mongrel being underrated, which is a change.

It did its thing. It incentivized players to sign up before free agency (at least those who felt they could at the time- circumstances change, life happens).

I'm aware that it means that high impact players like Ease, bicin and Iron play without a tax (ez as fk). Id like to see gr8 players like Mongrel and others play without any further obstacles (it can be hard to get in the rotation sometimes, regardless of how well you perform).

My team is Power (draft pick number 6).

I think a huge majority of TWDT players agree that FA needed / needs some sort of nerf moving forward. Many players said to get rid of it completely which I don't think is a great solution. It's too late to get rid of the .5 tax for this season but we can at least get some feedback from this season for future ones and potentially make a different type of nerf for free agency in the future. The players who signed up had more than enough time to sign up for the regular draft and chose not to for whatever life obligations they had.

I think the purpose of free agency is meant to allow teams that aren't competitive to regain that competitive spark and for teams that are competitive to complete their lines (if they're fortunate enough w the free agent class).

The real purpose is TWDT: which is to promote competitive gameplay for as many members of the community as possible.
