well atleast I don't listen to coheed and cambria, cause slitting peoples neck for your girlfriend is cool! Are you fucking kidding me? Ska has so much more involvement of other instruments and the bass. Ska a much more noticeable beat compared to most punk bands.

There is a reason it's called a music business and they will keep manufacturing and marketing shit music as long as people will keep gobbling it up. In general the public is going to listen to whatever they (media) wants you to listen to. Most people that listen to popular music aren't real hardcore music fans. They just listen to whatever is on the top 20 list that day and their favorite song is usually whatever song is popular lately.

Doesn't anyone else find the whole idea of these American Idol and Making the Band shows abolutely sickening? It's basically the ultimate in manufactured shit. In the Making the Band series, they pick 5 or so people that they put together, give them songs to sing and then record them and sell the albums.

Don't get me wrong, I listen to some pretty mainstream rappers and then I also listen to underground death metal bands. Just listen to whatever the hell you want.

As for Stabwound's comments on American Idol, et al., I'm totally agreed. Just look at people like William Hung who get contracts for being complete dipshits. They're not even making music. It's a novelty act that is nothing but a fad.

Yea i know what you saying but its not wrong because the music industry follows any other business industry and trends change its not unfair its just life otherwise everyone would still be listening to classical music (means there wont be any other genres like rock, rap etc) thats how music progresses through changes in prefrences.

The only ska album I ever really enjoyed was Keasbey Nights by Catch-22. I didn't know anyone still liked ska, but if you do, I highly recommend checking that album out.
