I have nothing against the leafs (im a habs fan) and in fact I like to see the canadian teams win so I'm routing for Calgary and Toronto. But if one more devout leafs fan tells me 'The leafs are gunn win the cup' then i ask why they think that and they use that same answer 'cause the leafs are the best' I will kill something. Sure they are a great team but just saying that doesn't mean they're going to win. Philly proved they have the potential to tramp all over them yesterday and I still hear out around that Toronto is the best just because they are the leafs :|. The team right now that deserves this cup is Calgary, all the way. They have got more heart then any other team out there. Gelinas is playing with more heart then the whole leafs team combined. So don't be surprised if the leafs go down in 7 or if they get through, go down to the lightning.

I'm a leafs fan, always will be, but when it comes to the run for the cup, toronto's been coming up short for years, and with the way their playing phillie right now, they need a miracle, that only belfour could provide.

I will also go for any canadian team, rather keep lord stanley home, say goodbye to the cup detroit ( *muah* ) [kiss of death]

The Leafs have always been able to bounce back with a dominating performance the game after getting creamed. It's happened all season, and with game 6 in Toronto, I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again. Even if they do win tomorrow, they would be hard pressed to win game 7 in Philly.

And while the Flames have shown a lot of heart this year, you'd have to really stretch to say the Leafs don't have very much of their own.

One of the things that makes me think this, is that when I watch these games I see Calgary winning almost all of the races to the puck, even on the little plays. Where as I see, say on a dump in during a man advantage for toronto, that they never get there before the defenseman (montreal is even worse for this than toronto). I keep thinking to myself while watching this, If Calgary was playing this game, they'd have that puck and maybe apply pressure causing a scoring chance. It's just my opinion that if people are going to say Toronto are going to win, that they use some legitimate reason like, Nolan will be back and can use his physical strength to aid in the checking game (which needs to be played v philly) or, Domi and Tucker are going to rally the team by playing their little legs off (which they do most games, but not lately) or that nieuwendyk and sundin and Mogilny will be put together forming some kind of super line. Something like that.

That's not the only form of heart, you know. There's also Sundin coming back ahead of schedule and being the difference in game 4, or the team playing it's best hockey in years and finishing within points of first overall while missing a player like Alex Mogilny for 50 odd games, or having guys that haven't been playing for a while step in and contribute like Chad Kilger or Clarke Wilm, or, as I mentioned in that last post, being able to bounce back with dominating performances the game after being embarassed.

I'm not blinded by blue like a lot of Toronto fans out there that I can't see the team for its flaws, and I can tell you that heart is not one of them.

What a disappointing loss that was last night. I've watched almost all the leaf games for a few years now and that one was probably number one. To come back from 0-2 like that and send it into over time and play with so much passion then lose is just cruel. To top it all off Toronto's players aren't getting any younger and many wont be playing anymore, atleast as a leaf. Sundin and the rest know it, just look at that picture of him in the Toronto Sun.

great season for the leafs, and good playoff run.
sundin is still my #1 player, he showed people what how a cap should play.

you mean like Mr Keith Primeau, who scored 3 goals, delieved massive checks, played an unbeliavble defensive game and made game 5 a laughing stock, thus setting the stage for the exit in TO? Please, sundin didn't even compare, he was nowehere to be found all playoffs, even if he is hurt. Sundin is the BEST 3rd period guy in hockey, but he needs to show the hell up the other 2 periods if the leafs are every going to go anywhere. The simple fact is his 9 mil got shut down and outplayed in every aspect by a guy who makes 5 mil.
