Hope we have an understanding before this gets any more off topic, I guess I do recognize that people feel just as strongly towards the lyrics themselves as much as the music. Without words in any music, the industry would be terrible and be so much harder to get messages and feelings across -_-
But you have to admit, a handful of songs (namely mainstream) only use words to "fill" in empty spots missing from their shallow music, I should of been more clear when I mentioned this is "brainless."
And poetry, for the most part, is simply written on paper. There is no music behind it or melodic way of reading it which separates poetry from music, however they're still both forms of art, even forms of literature if the circumstances are right.
And do not take me for close-minded--I've listened and enjoyed such a range of music, even if it's not the most "normal" range... from the sole drumbeat of the Yanomamo, to the lyrical voice of Sarah McLachlan, to the keen riffs of Catch 22. I've been there and back, not so much rap though. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate any form of music even if it seems like I do.
As long as someone else enjoys their music I can't be condemning it and I do accept that they have great talent, one way or another. I'm pretty sure I never said or gave the idea that I said "your music sucks" lol (it's just a stupid funny saying but I never said it). If I did say that blatently, that would be very foolish of me, then would it be right to harass me in any way :P
