        I'll answer for her...

a kilt to the irish/scottish is what a family crest would be to the english, its also the originator as far as I'm concerned to the modern day gangs holding down their colors - instead of due rags, the guys would wear clan colors to help distinguish who was who, matter of fact go read a book an get this information yourself.

as for a skirt, a skirt is for a bunch of wound up cock hungry pussys
        their worn by femjobs

have you acctually seen a kilt? if u have then you'll see there a lot diferent and what sixtoo said about it been like a family crest it true as most Scottish or Irish surnames have a different colour of kilt.

soooo... each scottish or irish family has a different color of skirt then?

You can tell me what it means all day, but if you replace the word "kilt" with the word "skirt" in any of your explanations, it comes out the same.

think what you like ave had this conversation too many times and learned that poeple who dont want to find out about them or keep calling them skirts simply want an arguement, so am not rising to the bait, but some english guys do wear kilts, robbie willams for example.

I understand they have meaning and whatever else, but the only reason you won't admit that it's the same thing as a skirt is because it's socially unacceptable for a man to wear a skirt. it's the same damn thing.

think about it, forget everything you know about who's supposed to wear skirts and who's not, pretend it's ok for guys to wear skirts, you've even got a few you wear on weekends... now someone comes up to you and asks you what a kilt is. You'd be like "it's a special kind of pleated skirt that scottish people wear". But you can't say that because you need to pretend that it's something special and different because guys aren't allowed to wear skirts.
