Favorite car under 50K

Stealing xog's idea, but I'm more interested in cars that real people drive.... if you had 50k for a car right now, what would you buy? (american money)


and also, what car would you buy if you only had 25k?

assuming the 50k could only be spent on a car, i'd get a volvo. i dont know the model name or whatever, but newer 4 door volvo cars look so rad. i'd spend whatever i had left on lapdances and pina coladas

fast as fuck for the price (I think theyre about 20k?), and very mod friendly
. when you get the stage 1 MOPAR turbo upgrade for only about $350, you can push about 240 hp out of it.

I've never driven one, but the handling is weak from what I understand... I sat in one once and didn't care for the interior, the clutch has a lot of travel and the shifter throws are very long...


but if you just want straight line speed for cheap, you can't beat it.

loaded WRX is only about 28k... for about 32k you could get the STi

I plan on getting a wrx for my next car, I love these things.


ps... woudl you get the wagon or the sedan? the main reason I won't get an sti (besides price) is that the rear seats don't fold down... seems minor, but what's the point in AWD if you can't throw a snowboard in the damn thing?

1974 Ford Gran Torino.. Yes, the car from Starsky and Hutch.. not the movie.. but the TV show.. loved that car since I was little. Even my dogs are named Starsky and Hutch.

Other than that:
Probably a 1995-97 Impala.. when they brought it back, but before they turned it into a wimpy midsize thing. It had a muscular modern look to it that I really liked. Some people complain that it looked like a cop car, but decked out it's really nice.

Oh.. and just for you BZ... since this is more lighthearted than the Reagan thread, I'll throw in my masturbate in a locker story from high school:

Was this kid by the name Lonzie... that was his given name. Anyway, his whole family was just bizarre, like mentally fucked up, his little brother Peter would shit on himself on the bus (more than once) purposely. I wouldn't say that, but.. I saw him doing it with my own eyes, squeezing one out a few seats in front of me, grunting, the whole bit. Anyway... Lonzie while in high school, once got caught beating off in the girl's locker room. Some kids walked in, and he had his foot up on a bench, jerking away. For the rest of the day whenever anyone would look at him he'd start crying.. and when this teacher asked what was wrong.. one of the kids took her aside and told her. Someone started laughing and the teacher blurts out "Damnit! Stop making fun of Lonzie for masturbating in the locker room!" to which Lonzie openly and loudly... wept in response.
