I wouldn't worry chris, there's a FIFA restriction saying you can't be an international referee over the age of 45 and he's 44 so the Greece Vs Czech Rep (I think) game will be his last. Also the Italian age limit is 45 so it looks like he'll be heading over to England

He is overrated but he is the best for the game IMO. Anders Frisk is very competent too but he doesn't ahve the authority you need to ref a game like the final. Collina has the respect of the players and he can keep them calm (things can get a little dirty when the emotions make the losing team mad etc. big stakes).
