  • Velvet Revolver and Queens of the Stone Age

I'm looking for a new CD

    1. Is Velvet Revolver any good? I haven't heard anything, but I do like their single that they have out right now. (and does the lead singer look like the old lead of Stone Temple Pilots? is it him? or am I seeing things?)

    2. Queens of the Stone Age: Songs for the Deaf. I heard good things about this one, so I'm most likely getting it tho. But their older album, the one with "Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" I forgot what it was called off the top of my head. Is that older one better than the Songs for the Deaf?

I'd go for queens of the stone age. But I dont know velvet revolver much, I only heard a few songs from them and I don't remember liking their stuff much. BTW, I just heard a bit of The Stills and I like it so far

Velvet Revolver is fronted by the former Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland. This new band is basically him and former Guns n Roses members.

Why is this even a decision? Buy all three QotSA albums, download the b-sides and covers and thank me later. www.thefade.net will give you the lowdown on what's what.

Fuck QotSA and their latest commercial shit, and get their first s/t album wich actually kicks some ass, but isn't as popular with all the wannabes such as Carson Daly.
If you want to get the big daddy of them all, check out one of the early efforts by Homme and Olivieri, a band called Kyuss (you can start with any album, my personal favorite is Sky Valley which features one of the best songs ever, Space Cadet).

As for Scott Weiland, just stick with first 3 STPs albums and that's all you need from him.

Heck with Scott, and everyone but Axel - this Velvet Revolver thing could turn out alright. GnR still owns them though.

Buy the new temptations album with all the hits from their career

Temptations: my girl:the very best of the temptations

Thats all you need one your playing ss. I listen to them during lbs while I hear my squad talking on ts. Shit works I am not even into Motown or anything old, but temptations make me relax. I also listen to Parliament. But if you want some good cds get anything by STP, Our Lady Peace, Cypress Hill's new album isnt bad and I am loving the new Beastie Boys album.

Shit Jerome I was about to send you Snow Patrol, I've got it on right now... or have I already sent it? Anyway:

The QOTSA CD you're talking about is called Rated R. Its their second CD, and the one that saw them go from underground to overground so already that suggests its good. The first three songs are great, and then its drifts into experimental indie which I love with Better Living Through Chemistry and Auto Pilot which is one of my favourite songs of all time. The last four or five songs on the album can all be headed under the title "Lets get mashed off our face on class A drugs and record it", its that fucking weird.

Velvet Revolver is Slash and Duff McKinely from GNR and that guy from the Stone somethings, its pretty much Janes Addiction again.
