Easy songs to learn and they sound good. I've started with those and I still play them. :up:

The Led Zep songs I found easiest/most impressive were "since I've been loving you", "Rock and Roll", "babe i'm gonna leave you", "gallows pole" and "ramble on".

But I'd forget all other songs and just dedicate your life to playing freebird start to finish.

in my experience internet nerds generally can't tab for shit, but the best site especially for beginners is www.powertabs.net as it comes with its own freeware etc. there was also tabledit but it didn't really pick up off the ground but it had the most amazing tab for tubular bells arranged for guitars. If you are wanting to learn classic rock I would say learn stairway, it usually catches peoples attention in one way or another

Good point.....i forgot to tell u that.....i learned bass on Tab and now i can play sheet music......find a tab website and exploit the shit outta that.....tab is really simple....and fun

A friend of mine plays bass, he's mostly into punk stuff though. I can play some white stripes, nirvana, and Im kinda working on a Byran Adams song now. Mainly cause my friend can sing it perfectly. I'm going to get a guitar book or something tommorow, so ya it's good :up:

Learning quickly you are . The first songs I learned were Fox by millencolin, American Jesus by Bad Religion and Hash Pipe by Weezer. It took be about 2-3 weeks to be able to ''master'' the powerchords I'm a slow learner heh

A guitar is one of the most amazing things in the world, you're going to love it capital. If you're just starting out I suggest you look for a guitar teacher. But don't make the mistake that many of my friends made and go to a store that teaches guitar, because they'll only teach you songs. Look for a personal guitar teacher who is willing to teach you the dynamics of guitar playing, and stuff like scales and chords etc. Try looking for the pentatonic scale online and memorize that. Because once you know the pentatonic, making you're own songs is a breeze. The first two songs I learned on guitar were bullet with butterfly wings by smashing pumpkins, and come as you are by nirvana; these are great beginner songs.

Oh and if you're looking for tabs... mxtabs.com, punkhardcore.com (if you're into punk/emo/hardcore/metal stuff), olga.net, and a bunch of other are alright. I wouldn't recommend getting tabs of these sites though because 90% of the songs on them are completely wrong anyways. Cumu is right, internet tabbers really are horrible. Oh and download "guitar pro" its pretty nifty for making songs and such.

Fucking sweet stuff man. Didn't play too much over the weekend with twl and being smashed by melee and etc >.<

I realize now that more and more people I know play guitar. Heck two buds around the street take out their guitars in the laneway, sit on their amps, and play Ozzy/Zep/ACDC etc. all day. Been playing for years and I just found out. I'm going to go there tommorow hopefully to learn some stuff and toke a few. Should be fun.

btw this is the electric one I have, the acoustic is some ol yamaha my bro got when he was a kid.



cheap and sucky but it will do. I even learned to like it after I changed the strings.

edit: forgot to write the name. It's a Squier Standard Fat Strat. Cheaper brand of Fender but IMO better than the one quite similar mexican Fender I had.
