So I gotta admit one thing that "Europe" (most Europeans probably don't even consider Istanbul as European) is nicer than America, and I'm not talking about healthcare, higher education, happiness, or anything fiscal that fox news can call socialist... its actually a shitty Muslim holiday immediately after Ramadan. Here in Turkey, all the crazy muslims had to fast from food and water every day for an entire month until the sun set. Being summertime, they couldn't eat or drink between like 4 am to 9 PM. I bet lots of diabetic muslims die during Ramadan. Anyway, I ate in front of them as much as possible during the day, but they get an entire week off after Ramadan called ein al fire, which is where they get fat again for a week after fasting. Anyway, it's a 9 day public holiday here in Turkey. America would never give a 9 day holiday to workers. If the currency here wasn't worse than a Mexican peso, than it would be amazing to not work for 9 days and get paid. Too bad Turkish liras are worthless. It only costs me around $300/month to live in the nicest part of this city though, so fuck it. Also,alcohol is cheap here when using dollars.
