  • Half Life 2 - Single Player and Multiplayer Info

    Single Player:

Taking place somewhere in Eastern Europe called "city 17" which is taken over by these aliens who keep the city in check through force. You, as Gordon Freeman, who has taken the G Man up on his offer at the end of the last Half Life, is now stuck in City 17 and needs to fight his way out. You will run into people from the original Half Life like: Eli, a scientist from Black Mesa, and Barney, the security guard from Black Mesa.

    Multiplayer:

There is no "Half Life 2 Multiplayer" like they had in the first Half Life. What you will recieve for your steam are: Half Life, Day of Defeat, and Counter Strike all upgraded with the Source engine. That's right, you can play all of your favorite HL mods and the original HL itself with the updated, 2004 graphics.

If you want to play CS Source, on August 10th, they will be giving CS Source to all Condition Zero players for beta testing. They will start "Pre-Loading" on August 5th (for those who don't know, Pre-Loading is when you download the program before it comes out so on the day the servers come online you can start playing).

Half Life 2 is due out "This August" ........ sure....... maybe......yeah.

Blame the ones that first went to their server and stole some source codes (don't really remember how it went). Thats why we sit here waiting, since some kid decided to hack their servers. And they had to recreate or redo the code. I bet thats the reason for the game being this delayed.

That's exactly the reason, they also leaked it in some Eastern European or Russian markets, somewhere in that area. They sold the code as "half life 2". This is why it's taking so long, basically.

Lamest excuse for delaying a game in years.

If you were going to make the deadline and this delayed you that's one thing.

When you're over a year behind schedule it's just pathetic.

I don't know if its such a lame excuse when its true that they got hacked, and that the code leaked out, as Dameon Angell said.

So consider that you have the code, and that you can make and have made hacks/bots to cs, HL and other games. Now you could do even better ones, you could be god of the game.. exploit the bugs and benefits that you can use for evil perpose.

A shame that ppl don't intend to learn how to play, and directly goes and downloads hacks to the game.

What's lame is that the one that stole the code, couldn't just wait for the game to come out, and then do his fishy buisness.

This is real sweet, loved the mod (still do), since I'm kinda into old school wars, or if you can call em old school. Anyway, I'm lookin forwards testing the "new" dod and of course HL2.

Oh, well you try rewriting the code for a game in such a short amount of time.

If they kept the old code, the games would be incredibly hackable and no one would want another MOHAA-style hackability on their hands.

It was actually ready for release at Christmas but oh no, someone other than Gabe Newell was reading his personal mails and downloading pieces of code, bit by bit.

I think they've done an incredible job of rewriting the source code in such a short amount of time.

Yeah 1ight, I agree, recently I have become more of a world war II game fanatic, with such great games as BF1942, CoD and of course DoD.

All three are my most played games, apart from CS though..
