Unless anyone wants to counter claim doctor(or another town protective role that would call the existence of a doctor into question) right now, Backwards is town.

I'm positive that someone tried to kill me last night, but it sure as hell wasn't a one shot vigilante. It was the scum team, led by my main man the_paul.

So we are to believe that Paul shot his load on me as Town Vigilante with nothing to go on, not even any decent chatter, a move that if successful would have likely ended the game in a mafia win? Nope. Paul is not a dumb mafia player. Of course it's a bad situation. Assuming 3-2 going into night, all you can do is hope we end the night without a kill taking place and lynch a scumbag the next day. Vanilla townies have been the ones dying, not power roles, making this not at all out of the realm of possibility... and look, it did. What a good mafia player does there if they are pro-town is not take the entire game into their hands with absolutely NOTHING to go off, not even chatter where you can get a good gut feeling.

I assume Backwards knew that the scum team would know that I was a likely target tonight, and rightfully so.

So here's the summary of night two in my brain if everyone is to be believed: Backwards protected Voth and TP targeted Voth. Paul got a "successful" but Voth didn't die. No one died.

So, if paul got "successful" than it stands to reason that he's an insane vigilante or whatever, where his skill is really a lie and doesn't mean anything.

No one died, though, so then did the mafia target Voth and backwards saved her? With the detective dead I can't see a reason why the mafia would hold their cards and not send anyone out to do a killing. This seems like the most logical scenario.

So, if everyone is telling the truth, then the mafia targeted Voth and backwards saved her while Paul was really just a vanilla townie all along.

Considering no one died, I'm liable to be believe backwards.

But paul didn't come forward saying he targeted Voth until after backwards said he protected him, which makes for an easy and convenient roleclaim that could really just be misdirection.

Based off of all of that, I'm looking at casting my vote on either Beast (process of elimination) or paul, as it'd be strange for the mafia to target Voth if she were one of their own.

Am I missing something?

I got successful because I wasn't roleblocked. So my action went through, it was just protected against. I didn't want to say who I targeted right off the bat because then someone claiming doctor could say that they protected that person. Would be an easy roleclaim for mafia, especially if I targeted the godfather (which has decent odds all things considered). I was hoping backwards would give a different name, then we'd have a very good chance of knowing voth was the godfather. But backwards protecting Voth adds up.

Now the fact that there were 0 kills makes me an easy target for a mafia lynch today. It will be very easy for mafia to spin that I claimed targeting Voth, backwards claimed protecting voth, there were no kills, which means I'm scum. I didn't need to roleclaim vigi, so hopefully you guys keep that in mind. That leaves us with 3 scenarios: 1) I am an idiot and lied about being vigi and targeting Voth, and I'm really scum, 2) Mafia assumed the vigi targeted the godfather, and they chose to get ahead of it and roleclaim doctor to dodge that bullet (doesn't explain no night kills though), or 3) Backwards and I targeted the same person, we are telling the truth, and we are up shit's creek now. Fuck me. I targeted Voth last night and got a successful action, but I did not kill anybody. I voted Beast to see if anybody reacted, and also so that nobody would know who I targeted by my vote. It was entirely random. So we have basically nothing to go on, and I am now a vanilla townie lol.
