  • Hey I like this new guy, he isn't a dipshit. But some advice, you can't always lynch based on facts and evidence. Sometimes you have to go off a gut feeling or notice discrepancies in this game. It's easier to do once for some of us who have known some of these guys for near two decades so you are at a big disadvantage unfortunately.Welcome to the forums by the way.

      • Well, I’ll give my unadulterated observations in that case, not encumbered by two decades of knowing you people (with the exception of sdrawkcab and anyone else on here whom I’ve kown for 2 decades):

I thought it kinda looked suspicious how the vote moved right before the phase change/lynching of sdrawkcab at end of D1. I bring it up since I had the benefit of hindsight when I read it (subbing in post-flip of both sdrawkcab and Jessup). It looked suspiciously like a coordinated bussing of sdrawkcab by exalt and voth, with voth’s vote change coming ONE MINUTE after exalt posts the first fate-shifting-vote for sdrawkcab. Voth even asks, “...but is there time?” I dont know who exalt and voth are irl to know if I’ve played with them before or how experienced they are, but this reeks of one of sdrawkcab’s favorite classics: bus a known scum and build credibility as the superest townie.

So, I guess perhaps I do think exalt and voth may be scum and may have done exactly what they keep posting saying would be SO DUMB for scum to have possibly done which is to bus their own roleblocker to save other scum—something they would never do! If exalt is another scum power role, it makes sense from a rational perspective—if exalt isn’t known for playing rationally (or playing towards win condition at all times) then makes sense even if exalt’s just a goon and wanted to make a good play or was concerned about a double-lynch.

Equally important to keep in mind though is that us townies don’t know who each other are—but the mafia know who each other are and are coordinating separately right now. ***This means that the only people who knew it was a good idea to lynch sdrawkcab were THE OTHER SCUM. Every townie was in the same un-knowing boat, and yet exalt, voth, and the_paul acted swiftly and without hesitation to change the vote to lynch on to sdrawkcab — it seemed a bit coordinated.

I would normally feel more hesitant to say these suspicions so baldly out of deference to the possibility that exalt is a daytime cop who got a read on sdrawkcab then changed the vote (it would be unwise for me to Out a town power role like that), but exalt has already fully role claimed a *different* town investigative power role that is highly specific and would not have allowed exalt to have advanced knowledge about sdrawkcab at that point (since there had not yet been two flips to activate the alleged role). This likewise means that when voth switched votes—following exalt’s lead only 1 minute after exalt—there’s no reason voth should have known that was the right move, unless voth was scum-buddies with sdrawkcab... or is voth supposed to be a day cop too now?? I just don’t see why people (eg kthx, but also themselves) keep saying that exalt and voth practically confirmed town now... excuse me?

Lastly, I’ll just note to take a look at Jessup’s behavior. Jessup was third party, our first confirmed non-mafia flip (ie loner like each of us townies in terms of needing to discern who each other are). Jessup found exalt’s behavior suspect and went kinda HAM at points. Exalt didn’t like that. But Jessup definitely wasn’t expressing sureness about who was good nor bad at any point—because they didn’t know. Given, Jessup didn’t care either because they won alone as a third party. But, the point stands. Then, Jessup’s dead. Seems like perhaps either exalt is a noob scum with voth and they bussed sdrawkcab for cred which they’re now trying to claim, then they night killed Jessup as the strongest persistent voice against exalt.

I also wouldn’t normally air these kinds of accusations so quickly, since this type of behavior typically attracts unwanted attention from the scum, but it seems like we may have some newbies here and I want to make sure we’re providing a good forum for people to hash out their suspicions and have a healthy dialogue. Also, yes, I am throwing some shade, but it’s mostly because I want to air my suspicions and hear what other people’s insights are—does anyone have any thoughts? I missed a lot of the je ne sais quoi that comes through when playing real-time close to a flip, so I’m working with the record the best I can, but it’s not ideal! Have some sympathy for the sub ?\_(ツ)_/?

(this post was from my phone, therefore please don’t waste your own time reading into any typos or idiosyncrasies. I’ll double-check it tomorrow on my laptop in case it needs addenda, and I can drop in cites to posts/quotes for y’all to see what I’m referring to in each of my beefs, so you can judge for yourself and/or respond if I’m scrutinizing you)

tl;dr I currently think at least exalt and voth seem scummy based off their D1 playing, especially lunching sdrawkcab, and I am interested to hear what other people think.

        • I like the input, but you have to take into account it was a mafia ROLEBLOCKER flipped. Your suspicions would be more realistic had it been a normal goon or whatnot. Don’t think there would be much sense if exalt was mafia to make this kind of play, and backwards wasn’t nearly one of the least active at the time.

          • Yeah, it makes no sense to vote out a mafia power role that wasn't inactive at that point.

Why would scum me purposely lynch my own Roleblocker on Day 1, when Beast was an easy lynch sitting right there with nobody blaming me if I took it?

Why would I need to bus at all on day 1 when it seems scum and the SK were the only reason my wagon had the lead at one point in the first place?

Why do you think I'm scum when I claimed cop, yet there doesnt seem to be a counter claim?

Why would scum me NK Jessup of all people?

Nothing you said makes any logical sense, which means you either think Voth and I are dumb and make stupid plays for no good reason whatsoever, or you are pushing a shitty narrative because you're scum and have nothing real to go on.

Better put on some pants and lawyer up buttercup.

You decided to call 2 of the 3 people who lynched scum as your only scumreads, defying all logic, so I'm sure you can do a bit more than that.

I'm betting backward's scum teammates were new at this, because they not only let a scumbuddy get lynched on day fucking 1 (which is nearly unheard of), but also then went after Jessup of all people? Really? Unless the veteran players here are pulling some misdirection tricks, Jessup would not be on their list of top people to NK. I mean really, Jessup?

So yeah, I'm pretty damn sure scum don't really know what they're doing. Maybe Hookecho and that random replacement guy who hasn't posted yet. That's the scum team, unless there's 4.
This is pretty ridiculous -- I tried to save you because I thought you'd be more useful than not in solving this mystery, especially after you role claimed.

I'll admit I jumped on the exalt train early, because his conspiracy theories were the only consistently odd message being thrown, everyone else was just rabble rousing. Maybe that was just you getting into character, I don't know. I felt bad about wrongfully targeting you and didn't want to make another mistake day one, clearly that makes me scum. Maybe you all have just been playing together for so long that you just think these are tricks and not that of a newb, but here we are.

                    • Sorry I was inactive yesterday. We listed our house and we were going through offers. I've skimmed what has happened since, and some guy I've never heard of has presented the theory that the scum team was Voth, Exalt, backwards, and myself. That was certainly interesting. I've got to go back and actually read everything more in depth, but I can already tell it's going to be a wild ride.

Right. A sac bunt on a Mafia Roleblocker on Day 1 to secure a spot as a not confirmed townie. That happens frequently.

                          • I was out of town yesterday so apologies for inactivity.(Willby can you please update the player list to reflect the subs, I got very confused for a minute)

Here are my observations from catching up:

I believe Exalt, Voth and Paul are town based on their last-minute vote switching..
I was the first to vote for Exalt based off of what I thought was a rule of the game. I quoted WIllby's post from signups saying the theme was a cruise ship and the players would all be staff members. Almost immediately after, backwards (now confirmed scum) posted "Great catch!" and voted Exalt. I think backwards was trying to get a bandwagon going which is not something a scumgang member would do so early in the phase to one of his own. Also, I do not find the last-minute vote switching suspicious because the three of them were very active in the thread for the hours leading up to it.

                            Partyfalcon seems sketchy to me.
This is more of a gut feeling than anything, but our new attorney friend is posting giant walls of text that could be stated much more simply and is peddling theories that in my opinion don't hold water (see above about exalt and gang)..

Ixt had no reason to roleclaim and it seems scummy
Why? No one had voted for him. He was only getting lightly accused of being scum. And then to roleclaim bodyguard and then say you didn't even use your power on Night 1 makes absolutely no sense. I mean I get it, a successful use of his power ends the game for him (right? since he's a bodyguard?), so maybe he just didn't want to die. But in his roleclaim he admits that Exalt might be a good person to protect, and yet he didn't protect him. I'm suspicious.

Something smells fishy with Beast and Edify
I really don't have anything to go on with these guys other than the fact that they're posting a lot and are seemingly rather active but their posts generally lack any substance whatsoever. This is more true of Beast than Edify, but both of them seem like they practically have digital tourettes syndrome.

                            Hookecho
Where are you? Do you plan on joining the game any time soon?

So, with all of that being said, I'm putting a placeholder vote on Hookecho.

I want to see how the day plays out, if Hookecho suddenly becomes a valid contributor and we have no other information during the phase then I'll probably switch to ixt for the pointless and sketchy roleclaim.
