Oh my, this is more involved than I thought! My total experience with games like these is playing 3 rounds of 'Werewolf' around a table with some friends about a year ago :lol:

Ya the quick vote to get backwards was insane turn of events which I didn't see coming. Lots of possibilities I didn't mention too. Yup goon often used to protect highups in mafia in case they get attacked by those who have power to defend or do stuff.

There are day cops possible for town but usually townies do actions at night too with their powers.

Bus driver is a redirection role. They usually pick 2 people to drive and so it flips result. Can be complicated and usually is bad for town but could possibly help other times too. So if they drive player A and player B if Player B is targeted by a goon, player A will die. It gets complicated though because if Player B is investigated by a town cop, the cops result would be switched with player A creating a false result which can create quite a mess. There are also even terrible roles like insane cop who is not told they are insane (I played this once) every result is backwards so you are sure you know who is guilty but you are totally wrong.. These type roles can make many things results town gets by tips false and need to be crossed check somehow. Hopefully this is not a big issue this game because it messes everything up but it could be and happens quite often sadly.

Town usually has roleblocker, bodyguard, busdriver, cop, doctor and of course Vanilla Townies who have no actions are standard type roles, many other roles and variations possible with x amount of shots (ability to take action on certain nights or even day actions.

Mafia has a godfather (leader) , a strongman, HAD a roleblocker heheh, goons (who often are deplayed to make a night kill) and many other type variations.

Then maybe 3rd party roles in some games.

Its very open ended with possibilities but that is the basics. If you are Town you basically pray to survive or publicly make a reason at some stage why you shud be saved to those who may be able to help you with their roles or use your own power on self if possible to make you immune.

So basically at night those who have actions which you take to gather evidence or save a friend or save yourself. When day comes hopefully there is evidence collected to better focus on what is going on underneath it all.

Not sure what busdriver entails, and I understand the cop is a daytime role?

So the Mafia peoples try to use their 'goons', i.e. members without special powers, to make night kills, as they are put at risk by Townies with roles maybe doing some kind of action on them that might kill/expose them?

I guess we need to figure out who screams Townie the most legitimately from their voting patterns and conversations, and then try and figure out who might be the one that will be used to target them?

Most of the exchanges from Voth/Edify/Exalt/Vehicle and all that happening just before the phase change kinda washed over me, lots of talk relating to previous games. Was really happy to see it resulted in a Mafia lynch-kill. I'm not surprised by backwards flipping Mafia, but he wasn't at the top of my list of suspects.

I'm still thinking about Halp and Beast, less so about you Jessup tbh.
