Starship Troopers 2: Movie review

The movie never made it to the big screen, but it did come out on DVD recently.

If you watched the first starship troopers, you'll know that while the movie had a pretty bland story (bugs attacked earth! lets kill bugs! oh no lots of bugs! die bugs die!) but had some pretty decent action scenes that were worth watching. Did I mention that there are boobies? And the female soldiers took showers with the male soldiers? Well we'll have none of that!

Starship Troopers 2 is a low budget, incredibly unbelievable film without any decent action sequences at all. It tries to build up suspense, but never at the caliber of the "Alien" series. The story is even worse this time. (oh no we are trapped in a building! can't contact outside! more bugs! new bugs go inside mouth! people are no longer who they used to be! mouth to mouth gives bugs to someone else now theyre infected and produce more bugs! oh no!) with this 'new' bug, everyone seems completely content with trying to fuck everyone else so they can give the bug to them.

edit: someones head does get chopped off. that may sound cool, but it isnt.

rating: 1/10. I'd rather be watching king arthur.

Speaking of eccentric:

I work with an old, posh, balding guy. He's a real posh twit, after we've finished work and are waiting to close the door he'll go to the toilets and spend 15 minutes buffing his shoes and spends 5 minutes chatting to the customer he's serving when there's about seven people in his queue. We've also got a new manager who dresses like a lesbian and whos first name is Adolf (that last part may or may not be true). Some money has been going missing and everyone who has been on the tills has to have a security check now under orders of Adolf. The old guy is really not happy with this, he says we're being treated as criminals etc etc and one day had a shouting match with the manager and was sent home and suspended for two weeks. Upon his return we were still doing the security checks but the manager was on holiday, so when it was this guy's turn to be checked for money he took all his clothes off down to his pants as a form of protest. He was sent home and suspended for two weeks. We had to get another manager in from a different store to discipline him, and he called him an "arrogant little man", harsh words indeed. It turns out last night this guy started going at people with a hammer, so the men in white coats came and took him away to the funny farm to be sectioned. And to think I was working with a lunatic all this time.

I rented the second one and it sucked majorly. Don't waste your time even renting this movie, trust me.
