Anyone got a 17" TFT Monitor ?

My monitor not only kicks more ass...it was free. That's what you get for picking up other people's trash. Its only problem was the retards that threw it away didn't know it was out of focus.

It's a 19" Sony CRT. I have no complaints what so ever about it.

I have a spare 21" CRT that I rarely use at higher resolutions because it's slightly out of focus, how do you tune focus on a monitor?

You don't. TFT screens have a fixed refresh rate (despite being compatible with others), and optimal performance is reached when you match it. Check your manual and select the optimal refresh rate. You won't get any benefit from a faster refresh rate.

Optimum means "best possible" and resolution is something computery, so as optimum means the best the other resolutions are inferior and therefore shitty. I told the web design computery guy!

sigh i have a new problem
do i buy one from ebuyer for around £240 and risk having a broken one
or from pcworld for about £300 and be able to replace it in a day if it's not right
