  • Madden 2005

I guess this is really for the hardcore football fans. But I got it yesterday and I think the game is great. I didn't think the game could get any better than last years version, but in fact, it really out did it. They have implemented the new, "hit-stick". Which dishes out heavy hits on the defense, forcing fumbles, causing injuries, etc; basically it's really defensive oriented in this years version.

Football season is almost here, so playing this game definatly gets you pumped for the upcoming season.

I was just curious if anyone else who has the game, on what they thought of it.
RaCka> how can i get you here
death row> well basically im holdin off cuz i jus joined sweet. so its not u, its me
    RaCka> YOU'RE DUMPING ME?!?!?!?

Im actualy leaving to go to the mall in about an hour to go buy that very game Then after i play it a lil i'll let u know what i think, but i've been on the Madden bandwagon for a few years and it always impresses me when i 1st open it and put it in, and it never bores me.

I played ESPN and was gon na buy that bc its so cheap, but i didnt really like it bc it had some stupid shit on it and it was generaly easy, so i didnt and said fux it waiting for madden bc i konw madden will put it to shame.

Some people told me NFL2k5 was better, but im not so sure about that. I'm still hooked onto Madden 04 right now though. I dont think i'll be getting Madden05 because im going to get the new GTA, NHL05, and NBA LIVE 05.

I love the franchise mode of Madden '04, and I'll probably rent '05 to see if its any better... but the Madden gameplay just is never good enough for me (not to mention the comentary sucks). I've in passionate love with the NCAA Football games (2005 rocks btw), and it seems like these always dominate Maddens gameplay. NCAA has the big hit thing too.. and a composure meter.

I agree with you on the NCAA vs Madden issue, but NCAA isn't licensed in Canada, so I can't get buy a copy locally until the next year's is released.

Ya i was gonna get that NCAA too, but it came out like a few weeks b4 madden and i dont want to dish out 100$ on games in the same month. SO i just waited for Madden.

Now that i got it and played it i can say that its alot better then ESPN NFL 2k5. Atleast in my opinion.

I like the franchise modes too on Madden, its the best part of the game and basicaly only thing i play on it, or any game really. I am into the college games more too, but nothing beats taking Arizona (example) and building there team up over a matter of a year/2/3 and taking them to the super bowl.

Ah, but if I had a choice between getting NCAA online or walking into a store and picking up Madden, I'd choose the latter option.

Yeah, I played NCAA 05 at my friends house, and there was a few things that I would like to be added in Madden. For example: The composture meter was pretty original, and the crowd noise. I think it would be cool to see NFL stadiums shake (controller) with some of the noisey stadiums in the league. Madden, though, have tried to move forward in this category. They have a "moral issue," if a certain player isn't getting much playing time, they will have a low morale and they have added the local newspapers for each team during the season, you can read the players complaints in there. Its completely new from any other Madden version. They alo have a radio announcer in your franchise mode, from week to week, the radio guy discusses the state of your season. Another example: I replaced Kerry Collins for Rich Gannon as the starter, and the radio guy was talking about how good of a move it was and they even had some pre-recorded callers calling in on that subject. Its just a real new experience, reason why I think it's better, more life-like, than ever.

Ya thats why i like madden too, and always have. It tries to bring u into the game w/ the franchise mode. The game is ez if u play it on "rookie" but if u put it up to pro or madden or whatever it is then its a real good game. Vs a team like the Eagles or a good team you have quite the match. U actualy have to punt, kick field goals and stuff jsut to win. Its like watchin football on the TV on a sunday, cept ur callin the plays and executing them, but there is no real blowouts or anything if u set the level of playing pretty high.

I wanna atleast rent NCAA sometime soon, just got madden tho so that should occupy me for awhile, but i wanna try it bc i do like the college games.

I was trying to decided between the two games (ESPN and Madden). I heard better reviews for ESPN so I got the ESPN one instead. I've played it and I don't regret ever buying. Awesome game.

Agreed...ESPN2k5 is the best football I've ever played (besides the original Tecmo Bowl for NES)...there's so much more shit you can do on this game than Madden...personalize your own crib all the way down to customizing your own stadium music...plus its $20 ffs..Madden=

Oh yes, that's what everyone looks for in a football sim, the ability to give their crib a Queer Eye makeover.
