It's totally true, actually. My ex used to get them like hardcore and neither of us (or her friggin' doctors, which should tell you all you need to know about doctors) know why, until we Googled and found out that it was because she was a bulimic retard.

My mom is an eye nurse, but I'm too lazy to ask her about this.

The fact is I'm not, I eat my food, and I don't go and vomit it up. Besides, how would a bulemic "body builder"/traning person look like? I don't think so..

The veins in your eye are actually located in front of the retina which contains the photoreceptors that absorb the light that you see. Which is why looking into a mirror you can see some of them. Of course if you think about it this raises the question of why your vision isn't blocked with these veins. Interestingly enough it actually is, in fact 9 of 10 photons entering the eye are absorbed, by such things as blood vessels and arteries before nearing the receptors. Why we don't notice it has to do with the habituation of stabilized images. The eyes are in constant motion, known as physiological nystagmus, or eye tremors. If the eye wasn't in constant motion we wouldn't be able to see. For example if you put an image on a contact lens so the image moves along with the eye, it would quickly fade from sight (this has been tested if you're curious). Or if you've ever done those things where you stare at a dot and the image around it fades (much harder and less effective). The same basic rule applies to the blood vessels in front of the retina. But they are there, and are casting shadows on your vision. If you want to test it out you can sit in a dark room for enough time to allow your eyes to dark adapt, maximum dark adapted sensitivty takes about 25 minutes, although rods only take about 8 minutes in darkness to become more sensitive then cones, and then shine a light laterally across the eye, for example with a penlight, you should be able to see the shadows cast by the blood vessels on the eye, which is often referred to as the Purkinje tree.

For the record this isn't the same principal as the blindspot in the eye which you may have also seen things about. Where the optic nerve connects to the eye, the optic disk, there aren't any photoreceptors so thus we can't see anything that casts light on this area. But luckily you've got two eyes so between the two of them you see everything and your brain works it out. So if you cover up one eye shouldn't you have a "blind spot in your vision" Yes. Of course your brain fills in the blind spot for you so you don't in general notice. However if you've done those things where you stare at the dot and something to the right of it disappears, that's because you've covered that spot up with your blindspot and your brain is filling it in with the background not realizing that there is actually something there.

As for why your eyes are bloodshot I don't know. I used to take naps in my contact lenses and wouldn't get enough oxygen in my eyes which would cause my eyes to get red and infected, not good. Since then I switched to more oxygen friendly contacts and never had a problem since then.

                Isn't the eye interesting?

If anything I've said here was factually inaccurate, I'm a computer science major cut me some slack.

How do you one day discover you're bulimic? Isn't that where you force yourself to throw up everything you;ve eaten? Surely thats one of the easiest disorders to diagnose because you're making yourself sick three times a day?
