Canada was better, no doubt. But at least the Finns can keep their heads high on the way home (I was kind of thinking they'd be raped 8-1-ish like someone (usa) did previously).

Yeah great game Fins, especially that Ruutu fellow. What a move, under pressure, 1v4, perfect shot, to tie the game. What a move.

Yeah i heard that. He did get a little lucky with the second deke, was off the boards. But i mean, that's the kind of goal that makes a player. Confidence contributes a lot more to performance than most think. The fact that he hasn't done so before shouldn't take away from the goal - rather it should add to it as it is an indicator of his potential.

Hmm, now that i reread your post, it's possible your intent was to exemplify the goal's worth, rather than detract from it. In that case, I agree.

And our defencemen were caught flat-footed, especially Niedermayer's tie up, there was no way he could've past him if they were square. Saying that, I'm not saying Ruutu didn't do a good job capitalizing on the situation.

that's what I was getting at.

he is inexperienced and still has the guts to try something many veteran NHL players would easily lose faith in doing.
