i used to think punk was immune from the record industry's influence because punk is an acquired taste... it's raw and crude to your ears and it doesn't have the "catchiness" or "star value" of other genres. but now there's bands like sum41/good charlotte/midtown/etc. bands that have no emotion or message whatsoever. fuck that shit. it's depressing to see how much music has degenerated.
