Why do you think asians are considered "Smart"?

Azns consistantly score higher on tests because education is very important to the azn culture. It is a value that is deeply seeded in their beliefs. It's simple enough to understand... of course it isn't tru that every azn is smarter then every white/black ... i mean just look at merce.

i don't consider any race is smarter than another.. it's just the way traditions are. In asian cultures.. parents emphasize alot on their kids' studies. When i say alot..i really mean A LOT.

Its also the immigrant mentality. Many of the younger Asians in North America are children of immigrants, and since their parents worked hard to make a life for their children (moved to another country, went to college, learned a new language, got a job) the same motivation is drilled into their kids to do well in school, go to college, and get a good job so they can live a comfortable life and take care of the family.

I don't know if all Asians are smart...but a lot are. We also work hard. All the Asians im my grade are taking AP courses (Advanced Placement = 1 to 2 years ahead).

I never said ALL asians are smart, i'm saying since people think they are smart, give some reasons as to why people would think they are. Even give your own ideas, which is what I did. The only reason people might have misconceptions about Asians being smarter than other people is because they live in the US/Canada/Western Europe and there is a huge brain drain (especially to US).

Your reasoning is still faulty. If you wanted to look at why other people think Asians are smart then you should be looking at those other people, not at an Asian person and what he happens to be reading.

Even then, it's not a very good question to ask. You're effectively admitting it's a flawed stereotype and then asking for ways to support that flawed stereotype.

Aye, but i didnt find the maths section difficult, quite basic.

the stuff i was doing in college when i took my SATs (waste of time and money IMHO) was a lot more challengeing.
