  • uhm lets have a discussion about computer mice. yay

ok damn i had the same trackball mouse for 5 years and it shitout on me, so my gfs dad got me a wireless optical mouse...i was like coolzor but i knew it wouldnt be too hot for FPS games. oh well, ill take freebies and suck it up. but damnnn that was 3 weeks ago and today it started freezin up so i busted in with some fresh AAA batteries and it started working. ok, what the f..3 weeks and a battery replacement already? what an expensive habit. anyone else use wireless mice and have htis problem? i mean i dont wanna go buy just a normal optical when i have a free mouse here and plus my gf will be like wtf u dont like what my dad gave u? blah..

so uh whats the word on wireless opticals?
and what mouse would be the best bang for buck for FPS games?

enjoy debating computer mice, i know i do
    I agree.

My mouse came with a recharging cradle and I have no complaints about the power. The one thing that does bug me is that the mouse goes into "sleep mode" when not in use for a while. To turn it back on you just have to press any button or move the scroll wheel. While that is generally a good thing, every now and then when I bring it out of sleep mode, I need to also reset the signal between the mouse and the cradle (which also serves as the signal receiver.)

I had another wireless mouse before this one that did not have a recharging cradle. That mouse ate up batteries, of course, but a pair of AAAs lasted several months, not just 3 weeks. Were the batteries you used the ones that came with the mouse? In my experience, "freebie" batteries run out faster than ones you buy on your own.

If I were you, I'd think about getting a "wired" optical mouse. Unless you really prefer not having to worry about the cord then there's no real reason to go wireless. Some people say there is a slight lag with wireless mice, but others say that that's usually caused by having the receiver too close to the monitor or other devices which could affect the signal. I'm not much of an FPS gamer so I can't really tell you if my mouse was good for FPS games.

Heavy flow tampons, what are they all about? I was going through my friend's handbag a little while ago and I found a fucking miissle, they're like bazookas! They should be prescribed, its really worrying. I asked my friend today (different one) and apparently the come without applicators which means that even more of them gets inserted, jeez!

I'm using a wireless wacom mouse, never needs to be recharged and it doesn't have any wires. The only down side is it has to be used on the wacom tablet, which is, duh, wired. (yah get a wired optical mouse )

i have a wireless optical mouse, with a charging cradle thingy

i never have any problems with power, but i find sometimes my mouse gets posessed and hops around a bit. it clicks things itself, highlights text, moves the curser when i'm trying to type, it's an all round asshole though, but at least it doesnt have a wire, haha suckers.

I don't really see the big deal with a wireless mouse. What good is it? I've never had a problem with my mouse's cord being too short...

My brother got a Labtec optical mouse from his highschool and gave it to me. I dunno how good they are made (looks kinda cheap), but it works perfectly and I love it. Before this I had a traditional ball mouse so you can imagine why I like this one so much.

Like, there was this ninja who got
ticked off at some people who kept
talking while he was trying to rock
out on his guitar, so the ninja totally
flipped out and sang at them till
                  they all exploded!!! (true story.)

Why'd you get one with AAA batteries? Man.. my wireless optical uses AA.. they last for about 3 months.

And it seems fine for FPS, although my wireless keyboard is bad for those
