best three song sequence

It's funny you bring up Good News For People Who Love Bad News, because its track sequencing has gotten a LOT of shit. If I had to go for a three-song sequence off it, I'd probably do the last three. The ones you picked have this dense/sparse/dense ordering thing that I'm not a huge fan of, and "Ocean Breathes Salty" is by far the weak link of the three.

Regarding the VU discussion I"d say you could make a case for the 1st 3 off loaded, Who loves the Sun, Sweet Jane, and Rock & Roll.

If I had to pick something modest mouse I'd go with cowboy dan, trailor trash, out of gas, just based on those first two really. No Modest Mouse album really has a super strong three in a row.
