If this goes on all season, it will kill the league.

Half of these southern U.S. teams that don't like and appreciate hockey will simply tell them to take the team elsewhere if a season doesn't begin.

I was going to make a comment about the wording of this but then I realized, if they get this lockout resolved soon enough to miss only a handful of games, I would so come out.

Unfortunately I guess I'll have to settle for women.

I finally came up with the word I was looking for when I wrote the last post.
Welfare state.

I could understand this salary limit in a welfare state like Finland, where the government does everything it can to reduce the differences between the rich and poor people.

But in the US? The home of capitalism? Why try making one hockey club as rich/poor as all the others? You do everything you can to increase the differences in incomes/living standards of normal people, by having minimal taxes, jobs paying nothing and jobs paying millions and millions and practically no social security.

It just doesn't make sense. I'll say like Bush: Where is the consistency? Be capitalistic or not but make the damn decision and stay with it.
