I met a girl a couple weeks ago that was on leave from Iraq, and she said that the morale of the people over there that are actually fighting the war - that is, people our age, with no college education - is absolutely terrible. She said that she was voting for Kerry and that 90% of the soldiers she fought with were as well. She said she was responsible for purchasing supplies for the war, and that it was clear even to her that we are just squandering resources over there, and that it's a poorly-run war in general.

I dont belive this war should have lasted this long, but i guess helping them build a gov out there is worth some of the resources that we are spending because it might help us out in the long run. Jason, Church and State seperation was made to keep govt out of religous affairs. I see no problem with having people practice some religion in school.

Uhmmm, putting religion into schools is the dumbest thing ever. If you want people to actually believe the bullshit about America being the land of the free, you cant pick your religion and put it into schools and expect every student to have to listen and practice that bullshit.

Private religous schools are a different matter though, but religion in public schools is just dumb.

Religion in ANY aspect of the government is just dumb.

Same sex marriage is not for government to decide yay or nae on, nor is it right for states to decide whether they "recognize" the marriage or not. I can almost gaurentee( sp? ) that if all the politicians had gay/lesbian children, at least 60% of them would want them to have the same rights as "normal" people.

Stem cell research. They want to improve on the species, to fight against diseases that are uncurable thus far. People screamed that medical science is evil, yet I doubt they would scream if they were offered a vaccine for polio( again sp? ). "Playing god" is a funny term... since most "pure" religious people play god in terms of "you need to be saved so I will make the decisions for you and/or force my views down your throat"
