  • Bush supporters are ignorant, it's been proven.

    Ihttp://www.alternet.org/election04/20263/

It's downright scary that these people are allowed to vote. this is why I think there should be a test before you can vote...

72% of bush supporters believe that Iraq either had WMD or a program to make them before the war

75% of bush supporters think that Iraq was providing substantial support to al qaeda

57% of Bush supporters actually believe that the Deulfer report concluded that iraq either had WMD or a program to create them, even though it concluded EXACTLY the opposite.

There's a quote in that artical that really hit on that...

The roots of the Bush supporters' resistance to information very likely lie in the traumatic experience of 9/11 and equally in the near pitch-perfect leadership that President Bush showed in its immediate wake. This appears to have created a powerful bond between Bush and his supporters – and an idealized image of the President that makes it difficult for his supporters to imagine that he could have made incorrect judgments before the war, that world public opinion would be critical of his policies or that the president could hold foreign policy positions that are at odds with his supporters

                More Political Bull.

Jason, Church and State seperation was made to keep govt out of religous affairs. I see no problem with having people practice some religion in school.

Or vise versa, I see it more of a problem with religous institutions effecting govt. through out history.

I see no problem with it either. Muslims at my school pray (or something else, i'm not intrested really in what they do) during lunch. The kids organize it and no one has a problem with them doing this with their time. When this or anything else pretaining to a non secular education is run, enforced and or intrupts the norm of an educational facility and is matained by the public school system, that's when I and a lot of people will have a problem with it.

This poll is just stating the obvious. Of course a common Bush supporter would believe they had WMDs, the Al Quada situation, and etc*. Cause they support Bush.

Do a poll of people who think John Kerry headed legistlation in the Senate and got it passed. You'll get the same 75% of Kerry supporters saying that he did something contructive in the Senate. Why? Cause they support Kerry.

My conclusion - this poll doesn't prove anything new that nobody knew. Just stating the obvious.

I'm sorry, but you honestly don't find anything wrong with that?

I mean, yes you can support the guy, that's one thing, but believing something that has been proven to be false just because it's in your candidate's best interest? How does that make sense? I mean, we're not looking at policy and asking if they think it's a good idea or not. We're looking at whether or not people know about certain very important and relevent facts. According to your logic, if Bush suddenly said that 2 plus 2 equals 5 then people who support him will agree.

No Dameon, this is after the fact. Knowing what we know now (no WMDs and no terrorist connections) and these people still believe these items exist and
support a president who used the false knowledge of these items to invade Iraq. This is also a president who has down played the importance of both of this items while using them to initiate an invasion of a country. Now just because Saddam Hussein and his regime were not full of nice, helpful and honest people doesn't mean that using these falsely presumed items to invade their country was right.

You're completely missing the point. It's well-known factual information that they did NOT have WMD. Bush's own investigative team came back with the report that said it. This is not some fictional non-specific bill that you think people would say that kerry headed (which seems like nonsense to me, unless such a bill existed and kerry misled (or led depending on whether he did or not) people into thinking that he headed it).

This is not "do you like Bush or do you like Kerry?". This is millions of people that don't know extremely basic facts that are unbelieveably important, not only for this election, but just because you should probably know what the hell is going on in the world. And if you don't care enough to learn what's going on, you shouldn't vote.

If anyone bases their vote on some sort of catch phrase (like "Flip Flopping") or what they heard in an attack ad, they they are a dumbass. But, 80% of the US Population goes by what they see on that, cause .... (just making it clear I too am American, I love my country, just the people here are dumb, yes.)

THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, IN GENERAL, ARE UNEDUCATED DUMBSHITS.

They don't give a shit about the political process and just suck in all that they see on a 30 second advertizement or the bullshit spin for or against their candidate on various news channels.

I got so much to say about this right now that I don't wanna type a novel here. This whole election thing is just pissing me off and I can't wait for it to be over.

edit: And no shit TK I have a problem with this bullshit going around and all the lies and... fuck I'm done.
