It jsut that I'm saving for my comming studies.

I would say that your computer is pretty slick

Id say your school is more important also, that way when you get done and get the job you choose, then you can buy anything you want and never have to worrie about money or new kick ass parts, another good idea is waity for the pci express vid cards to come back out there gonna rule all, and the good ole agp slot will host your sounds card with its onboard dsp :P great stuff gl with school man "rock on pc guru ")

        nice case there Jeansi

Koolance isnt bad i like there case, its not as good as your lian li, i would get a lian but there just to plane plus the one i wanted that looked pretty cool and had room for a dead body was about 300$ ill spend 200 that way i have 100 for my wire wrap kit, and get a universal puller so i can change my connectors from white to either blue or green. THats a pretty sick machine, what do you have your sata/ide set up in? some reason i cant get my sata going, so im running of the ide which is slower but sata is new to me still learning about it, thinking about getting 2 more sata's and going with raid 5.
I got a laptop also a nice hp zv5020us its tights has a 128mb ati 9200, but its a celeron so yea games that require to much dont work that great, but i just got it for miya, and photoshop and good ole subspace, Have you tried to benchmark it yet? if so post your scores, on pcmark2001 <cant find 2003 for free anywhere) i scored 19,032 which is pretty decent, i wish i could get my grubs on 2003. btw nice machine another "monster guru"

Almost there with that "monster guru", there is a pretty big difference between amd/intel, im a amd feller, intel is nice, but they dont support 64 bit, which when to oem win 64 comes out <i have the beta> its gonna rull over pentium, pentium also has a bigger fsb compared to amd, i wouldnt call amd a poor mans OC cpu due to the fx cpu's cost 800$ plus :P

im talking about this, back in the day there was no agp slot, it was all pci slots, agp slot came around to keep the board from bottleknecking the gpu, now the pci express is here, most boards are going to keep the agp slot, and you sound cards will go there, because look at it, you got like 5 pci slots, your vid card is going to kill 3 of them ez for air flow, so your sound cards will be extended to fit the agp slot, the sounds card i have right now has oboards dsp which is its owns cpu, and it does not effect frame rates in games, need more info ?

You need QUALITY information, yes. Sound cards aren't (and haven't been, and will not be) AGP. AGP is on it's way out, yes, but no one's going to make AGP sound cards. I seriously doubt that you know what you're talking about.

I'm not saying this to flex nuts, I just don't want you confusing people.

Maybe what i was reading was wrong. AGP i do belive stands for accelerated graphics port, i was reading in a pc mod mag that they can and possibly will put onboard dsp sound cards into an agp slot to increase to performance of the onboard dsp and to keep the pci express clean, say you do put in a pci sound card, now you got 2 cards that require lots on those slots possibly bottle knecking each other and fighting over pathways. Agp sound card could prevent this, what do you think Con? ill do some digging to find that issue online.

I sure as hell wouldnt call a chip like the AMD FX-55 "cheap", hell it costs well over 900usd..
besides havent you heard, MHZ dont matter anymore. A64 3000+ at 2000mhz owns a 3.2ghz p4 in most benchmarks, and thats a "cheap" processor.

                          3.2ghz P4 is only around 200usd.
                          Intel Pentium 4 Xeon 3,6 GHz - 1 498 €
                          Intel Pentium 4 Xeon 2,5 GHz - 2 253 €
                          Intel Pentium III Xeon 900 MHz 12 - 5 811 € (Now this I don't understand)
I suppose Xeon's are just for servers.

                          Intel Pentium 4 3,4 GHz Extreme Edition - 1 005 €

                          AMD Athlon 64 FX-53 Boxed - 787 €
                          AMD Athlon 64 FX-53 (not boxed) - 894 €
Didn't find any FX-55 on mbnet.fi/hintaseuranta .. So I don't really know.. :/ At least last time when I check AMD was cheaper then Intel.
Yeah I know, 400+ aint that cheap. I even find 250€ to be expensive.

I know that MHZ doesn't matter, never said that I thought it did. When I mean cheap, compared to intel, AMD is much "cheaper" to buy, always been that way.

I have some clue, but I'm not an expert. Don't flame!

They sure did, also back then, when Thunderbird was a real beast compared to that day's Intel. I've always found AMD to be the CPU you should buy,
I would never buy a Intel. I've decided to say with AMD while boycotting Intel.

One thing I don't like is that new graphics cards cost almost as much as a new computer, in fact you can make a good computer with just 600-800 €. Maybe not the best gamestation, but a decent one.

im not into pcmark, but i was big into 3dmark about a year ago, always trying to get the top spot..

had it for a while when the a64s, and FX chips were new, with quad and naser from tbreak..

                            wild times.

anyhow, hds are just there, they arent in raid or antyhing.

systems on the SATA, backups etc on the UIDE.

but my current 3dmark2k1 score is around 28k, or it should be.. was 26k before vapochill cooling the radeon..

just dont have the time, money, or interest for 3dmark glory tho.

Freshman year of college a girl in my dorm modified her computer by covering it with refigerator magnets of monkeys and rainbows and stuff. Yeah. She couldn't figure out what had went wrong when it stopped working.
