Poker Stars is much better when it comes to suspected cheating. They're very approachable, and staff sends you email responses. They are even known to refund money to your account when they catch cheaters, too. This is unheard of on Party, because their policy is pretty much, "Uh, nobody on our site cheats," so they don't have to deal with the hassle of sorting it out or losing customers.

Although it's pretty much impossible to catch a person using a poker bot, I've heard bots are not very useful when it comes to LHE and NLHE. Just what I've heard a couple people say, though. I don't know from first hand experience.

The real problem with online cheating isn't so much a bot, as 2-4 buddies sitting at the same table, pooling their prize money and instant messaging each other what their cards are. This gives you an obvious advantage when it comes to calculating the fundamentals like EV, pot odds, and implied odds. Not to mention when you get a player between you and force them out with a raise-to-reraise-to-reraise trap, or in a SnG (Sit and Go) when they chip-dump to their buddies to keep them alive. It can be fucking lame.

However, if you know the basics, it's much easier to spot when people are scamming, and therefore can report them, or just leave the table to protect yourself.

Yea, I agree. Poker Stars software is the nuts.

But so is their customer service. They even let me and my opponent chop our prize money during a sit and go. I'm not sure if the other sites would respond to an "urgent chop request" email within 3 minutes.
