anyways i've been reading up on politics and i'm wondering: if the constitution is a sort of voluntary contract, what stops the people from just waking up one day and saying "you guys suck, new government time!" ?

i'd like a standing army and nothing else. i'm sure privatizing wouldn't magically fix problems, but it would cut beauracracy, increase innovation and at least hold people at fault if they fuck up.

Nothing's stopping people from waking up and calling for a new government, but you better have a lot of people that agree and are ready to fight and die for it.
