lol i was surprised that Ireland was top. Also the bit i live in (Northern Ireland) wouldn't be counted as 'Ireland' in the calculations but would be used to drag down Britain with its high unemployment rate and terrorism :fear: (lol is it just me or is this smily a shifty one with a balaclava on?)

Obviously "quality of life" is hard to measure and subjective to each person and a lot wouldn't agree with the research and i don't take it too seriously, still nice to come first though :grin:

they should could the US by states. It's much easier to appear very good when you have a pop less than 20 million. (the population level should change to be just above your countries population and therefore discount your rankings) I thought it was interesting how the US was languishing at 13. OH no, we are a horrible place. Then you see how it goes into the 100+ range. I would like to see where all the countries with 150 million plus ended up.

All the countries with 150+ million people didn't make the list probably because they don't have as happy people.

And the USA is very far down because of big differences between rich and poor, huge amounts of crime, lots of unemployment and no social security.

i wouldn't wanna live in the states, and i have a feeling a lot of other people feel the same way... but hey, it's just a matter of opinion. there really isnt any such thing as they "best" country just in general.
