well, creative radios are shite, if you put the player on your pocket it doesnt work so well, keeping the player on your hand is like listening normal radio and the voice recorder is ok, atleast i think cuz i dont have anything to compare it to, fitting 10 albums on 512mb? sound will be like early 1900's

Aren't 128 bitrate albums around 50 megs? ... assuming a 10 song album each song being about 5 megs? ... and doesn't 512 megs mean basically 10 albums at 128 bitrate?

he thing that turns me off bout the iPod is that it's too expensive compared to the other players. I also don't really need that much gigs. My budget is $200 MAX ... hopefully I can get a 512 meg player for $100 or so.

For around $30-70 more you can get an iPod mini or a 20GB Click Wheel iPod with a student discount. I know you said, "$200 MAX" but you should consider saving a little more and spending a little more to get something really, really nice (and trust me, you'll love the extra space--so far I've only ripped 510 songs at 192kbps VBR which is over 2GB (or 1.2 days worth of music)).

Dell also has a 5GB MP3 player (Dell Pocket DJ) available for $200 with a student discount and a 20GB version (Dell DJ) for $250 with a student discount. I don't know how it stacks up against the iPod, but I bet it's pretty good.
