I think what GHB is ignoring is the fact that most Useless Crap threads are just about as close to being spam as you can get, and spam is indeed not accepted according to existing forum rules. His reasons for keeping the Useless Crap forum are not strong enough to convince me that it should remain. The difference between most useless crap threads and the examples he mentioned is that there actually is room for discussion. With Useless Crap threads there usually isn't even any discussion. He says he finds "useless, nonsense, shitty threads" entertaining but that in itself is the whole problem. The issue Zeus started talking about is not specifically the Useless Crap forum. The problem is people who DO find "useless, nonsense, shitty threads" entertaining. You don't think we should get rid of the Useless Crap forum because some people find it entertaining? Well guess what: those are the people that are turning this forum into crap. If getting rid of the UC forum upsets them and turns them away from these boards then that's the whole bloody point.

I have nothing against the concept of Useless Crap as a forum; there will always be topics deemed not worthy of general discussion but are still light hearted and entertaining to most people. The best example would be Pearl Jam's 'funny mental images' thread. My problem is with the current crop of people posting in Useless Crap and that fact that they haven't been put down yet

I only came back so I could bitch at people. These forums are pretty bad. I hear the same ol "SUT UP NEWBI I WAR ARN ALENYA AN I GO 1 KIL TODAY!" every day. Everyonce in a while a decent thread will come up...everyonce in a while meaning rarely.

TK hit it out of the park. Let's ditch the UC forum altogether. Furthermore, we most definitely need to crack down on these shitheads posting their shitwitted nonsense. Closing and/or deleting threads, warnings and even bans aren't out of the question.

Sure, people are going to whine, but what don't people whine about? It's really do or die at this point. If we don't take action soon, these forums will be beyond the point of salvageability.
