These forums are used for mostly teenagers who enjoy being teens. Most teens do not want to continuously discuss serious matters which don't really affect them. They would prefer to poke fun and enjoy attempts at making someone laugh. You seem to have missed this notice when you joined, so count this as the notice to you now. These forums are not meant to be serious. Occasional threads can and will stay serious, but almost all won't. If you prefer serious discussion you might want to move to a more adult themed forum. I am sure they will love your heavy discussion on microwaves and whether they will give you cancer after 10 years of use.
