Near-Death Experiences

near death experiences, not personally, (well theoretically, but i havent been close to dying perse), witnessed/aided in two tho.

#1) "messing" around in the "stairwell" of a highrise building, railing doesnt hold, friend starts to go over, catch him, eventually pull him back over. that shit was too close for comfort.

#2) "messing" around (always the same scenario ) on this thing that looked like a teacup (was actually a well), the bottom fell through (some wooden thing that was rotten to the core), friend fell through, managed to catch him and pull him up. Not as scary.

If id "have" to list my "closest" near death experience itd probably be Driving on the street at ~200kmh, when a truck pulls out from an exit right infront of me (head on, my lane), luckily there was noone on the sidewalk next to me or i woulda hit it head on. bloody close tho.

I still woulda driven onto the side, better hitting a pedestrian killing him than hitting a truck killing me.

i don't wnat to type out what happened to me, it involved a glass, my wrist, artery, tendons, lots of blood, passing out, surgery, 4 weeks of school, 6 months physical therapy.

And Panda... if you still couldn't breathe next time you may have to do a tracheostemy! You can do it at home. Take a bic pen, and stab between where your hyoid bone and cartilage are by your vocal cords. There's a very small pen-sized hole there where there's only soft tissue leading to your trachea, and that's where you stab with the casing for a bic pen if someone can't breathe and there's nothing you can do to make it better.

Ok, next time that happens, which it hopefully won't, I'll try to think staight and screw up the courage to do that. But my dad was there giving me the Heimlich.

This isn't as great as some of your stories, but it's scary enough for me. I recently broke my foot and had a plate put in it, and i've been on crutches for a few weeks now. I just started going up the stairs with my crutches and well, I've lost my balance going up once or twice (i do it standing) and lost my balance going down 2x (standing) and each time i slipped going down, i stepped on my injured foot. So now i do it the less graceful way of sitting and crawling down to the first floor. Falling down a flight of 20-some steps isn't very fun.
Well, it may not sound like much, but if i fall and tumble, one snap of the neck and i'm gone.

Well it depends on a lot of factors. It depends most on the oxygen saturation of your blood. Anything below 90% is bad news, below 80% and you're in serious trouble. If you're healthy you'll be at 99% and it depends on how young and healthy you are before your O2 sats drop low enough to cause you brain damage. Some old people with serious problems can actually live at around 90 or so without serious brain damage, but they've also slowly become accustomed to it.

i dont like seaworld anymore. when i was a youngun i went real deep in the wave pool and once the waves started i got trapped. i tried to climb up the ladder but the waves kept knocking me off. luckily my brother pulled me out cus it was time to go. like a week later some1 did drown there. i have flipped on the water ride where u go way up on the walls when i rode the 1 person one. when i rode the group one once i almost flew out of the raft/tube but my dad caught me.

well ive had some near deaths on the road, but a near no fingers/toes left was around 10 years ago, i was around 10 years old, staying at my dad's friends island in the bahamas, so i went into the dock to jump in for a swim, got up onto a small wooden box, went to dive in and out of nowhere got tackled by my dad's friend's son, who was like 16 and a mini tarzan living on the island. just tackled the shit out of me onto the dock.

i was like "what the fuck!" and he just pointed down into the water and 2 barricudda's were circling just under the dock below me.

you can scuba dive around barricuda's no problem with fins and shit, but what i was doing would have probably cost me at least a finger or two or something :turned:
