  • Shining force to PS2

I used to love this game for sega genesis called Shining Force, it's had a few crappy sequels, prequels and other sorts of things. Now i see it has "shining Tears" coming out for PS2 then "shining force neo" for PS2 as well. Anyone into this game? Any japanese people can probably tell me if they're good already.
I dont think everyone agrees with you that tyf is a vet.. eeeeh? (2 tired to type the rest)

Edit: btw.. did you just compare raspi with tyflias? (roflmaoroamroamroam ramroamr amroaomroamraofmlamomarmlol)

Shining Tears actually has nothing to do with the Shining Force series. Starting with the Sega Master System / Megadrive, there have been a ton of games in the "Shining" series: Shining in the Darkness, Shining Soul, Shining Tears, Shining Force (1, 2, 3).

Shining Tears is an action/RPG game.

Anyway, the new Shining Force Neo looks like it's going to suck. I don't think it's anything like the original games.

if they kept that battle engine, i know they'd do well.. different graphics would make it 100% better too. I know that shining force had a trilogy, i was just explaining it simply.

I watched some videos of Shining Force NEO and it is nothing like the original. It's an action RPG, looked a bit like Diablo. I guess Max is in the game, but meh. It's no strategy RPG thats for sure.

Yeah, the Sega Shining Force games are awesome. I'm going to try Shining Force CD again some time (it's the SegaCD version- it has upgraded versions of the 2 Gamegear SF games).

Agreed, but then again, there weren't many good Genesis RPGs.

The only Sega Genesis game was Herzog Zwei.

I'm fairly sure there's sega employee's who'd disagree with you on that one

Shining Force is a classic, it's confusing why the developers are doing some action games instead of using the tactical rpg style that made the series famous. However, there is also a 3rd game in development called Shining(TBA) - http://www.shiningforcecentral.com/game.php?m=0&g=19 , perhaps it will revive the game.
