Get "GANTZ" (2 volumes; 13 episodes each I think)... a somewhat gory, perverted anime, and also a bit philosophical. The best 26 episodes of anime I've ever seen 8)

i always thought it was the latter but my friend says otherwise. he is probably right, i never liked it.

edit: i remember seeing some anime once. I think it was called "Red Hawk" or "Red Wing" or "Red Hawk Wing" or soemthing. what the fuck was that all about

The only anime I've ever bought are the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs. They're just so good you'll find yourself crying after watching them all.

My favs:
-Last Exile
-Kenshin (OVAs need the series to work)
-Love Hina
-Chobits
-Cowboy Bebop
-Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies, Spirited Away (those are the ones I've seen, would probably like the others a lot too; movies made by studio Ghibli)

Must-sees:
-Evangelion
-Cowboy Bebop
-Ghiblis (some mentioned above)

If you want some total time killers I'd recommend Prince of Tennis, Naruto and Hikaru no Go (actually quite exciting (read: addicting) once you get to know the rules of the game). You'll find yourself wasting too much of your time watching these after you've seen the first few episodes.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Azumanga Daioh in both categories. It's a really funny series if you watch it with the right attitude. BIG recommendation.

Just browse for Bleach, but the story is basically about a guy who has a supernatural ability of being able to see spirits, and assumes the role of a Soul Reaper (shinigami) and their job is to 1) place wandering souls to rest, 2) kill the tortured spirits, who are called Hollows in the show. They send souls to the Soul Society, where they can't be turned into tortured spirits. If they aren't sent to the soul society, they'll eventually become tortured of the fact that they're dead and they can't get over it, yadda yadda u get it.

Bleach and Yakitate have those new adventure every episode type of plotline, but if you're watching Beck, its like one big story, so from the beginning its best.
