there's more details. anybody who plays an RPG KNOWS if it's an RPG or not. You gotta be an idiot to not know. Like I say "Madden" and you say "Sports". I say DOOM, and you say "First Person Shoot-em-up" =p

When I say Secret of Mana, you say RPG! Got it?

    Okay...... your first one is...

                GETTING OFF TOPIC

Grand Theft Auto - Vice City Preview
                by Rockstar North

I'm going to make this one short. This game is defenatly going to be Angell's Game of the Year 2002. This is the follow up game to Grand Theft Auto 3. This game takes place in 1980's Vice City (Miami). You play the role of Tommy Vercetti (the lead does have a name with speaking parts this time !!), a guy who has just got out of jail and needs to pay off a few debts. This means he has to go back to "work" and get them repaid. Tommy is voiced by Ray Liotta (he was in the movie Goodfellas) in Vice City.

Vice City is supposed to be 2 1/2 times larger than Liberty City (GTA3) and it will be all opened up to you from the get go. No more waiting for bridges to be repaired.

The cars in GTA3 amounted to about 40. Vice City will have about 100. You will be able to pilot Airplanes, Helicopters, Cars, Motorcycles, and Boats. The airplanes will have wings on them this time around so they will be easier to fly. You can snipe or throw explosives off of the helicopters and there are more stunts in the ground vehicles to do. You can also jump out of already moving vehicles if needed.

GTA3 had 75 different missions, but they all didn't have the production value that some missions like Bomb da Base did. But, this time they will have more quality missions (like Bomb da Base) and has 8 hours of cinematics and cut scenes.

The graphics will be better, the wacky radio stations return, but with real, licenced music by real artists. The soundtrack will be on Epic Records and will be out soon.

Overall, this game has the makings of Game of the Year 2002 and will definately be a must buy on 10-29-2002. Get this game as soon as possible!!

Hype o Meter - 5/5 *this is gonna be good*

Magi it's not "Roll Playing Game" it's "Role Playing Game"

And sadly, these days any game with swords and shields and magic is an "RPG"

It doesn't matter though because even the true table-top role playing game is so often regarded without consideration for the role playing, we might as well use RPG to classify anything with a fantasy setting.

                        Games that suck:
Final Fantasies, Chronos, Xenogears and basicly anything by Squaresoft or its clones
                        Diablo 2, Dungeon Siege, Clones
                        EverQuest, DAoC, most Clones
The Zelda games for N64 (geared towards young kids in what I like to call the "Jar-Jar Binks/Luigi's Mansion marketing approach")

                        Games that last forever:
                        SubSpace
                        Ultima Online
                        Counter-Strike
StarCraft (gets old after too long unlike the others listed here, I suggest buying Warcraft at that point for a short fix)
                        I'd rather be SubSpacing.

Annux, I just demand some sort of replayability. Games like Final Fantasy where it's just a really shitty CGI movie with some insanely boring fights in between are not entertaining (Oooh I got a new limit break! How exciting!).

Games that are fun time after time, with some variance in gameplay and/or any sort of community aspect make Final Fantasy look like a joke...
                            I'd rather be SubSpacing.

I'd take a good story line, developed characters, and amazing film sequances over monotonous asteroid shooting any time.

The fact is that Subspace's survival is based on a network of people. A single person role playing game only requires an imagination and the know-how of the control pad to be a true success.

You're missing the point entirely. You can't compare oranges and grapefruits by saying one is better than the other; they are equally tasty yet completely different.
