There was a tornado in my city today. Well, sort of. It wasn't a full blown tornado, but I guess it's described as a thunderstorm with funnel cloud activity, or some shit. So, a funnel cloud touched down about 10 miles from my house today, and I didn't even realize it. Ok, now the wierd part? I live in the northern california valley. I've never heard of an actual funnel cloud touching down and doing any real damage anywhere here in Sacramento.
Apparently, it ripped up a few rooftops, overturned 3 semi trucks including their trailers, and picked up one dude in his car a couple feet off the ground, spun him around a couple times, then dropped him back down. Ok, all this shit was happening in the outskirts of the neighborhood adjoining mine, and I heard nothing about it?
Ok, now here's where I get totally fucking annoyed. Even though I was listening to the radio at the time, I heard no fucking emergency broadcast system warning. Why the fuck do we even have an emergency broadcast system? I mean, my favorite TV shows get inturrupted all the time while they test this piece of shit system, but I've never actually seen it in action. I didn't see it during 9/11, or for this fucking tornado, and I would kinda think those two events would qualify as emergencies. I'm beginning to think it's a myth, and we just spend tax dollars on something, and in reality, they just go towards a hooker and 4-star dining fund for the assholes at the FCC.
