This is a collection of the last 50 years of winning pictures in the World Press photo contest.

    World Press Photos

This is 2004s winning picture taken by Bob Martin from the UK who was covering the Paralympic Games for Sports Illustrated when he shot this image of the 200m freestyle heats.

Some of this pictures are slightly graphic. What do you think of them?

1989 is the classic pic with the guy standing in front of the tanks. I always wander if he gets ran over.

Use Firefox 1.0 (doesn't work in the IE6 version I have)

When you right-click the picture to 'Save Image As...', don't let go of the right-click. Press enter to get rid of the copyright box... then you can choose Save Image As

                  (works in IE too)

yea, i was using ff also. but yesterday the anti-copy box alert kept popping up.

dude, that's wierd. i tried it again this morning, and sometimes it pops up with the ability to copy (when i right click), and sometimes it doesn't work. i don't get why it would only work 2 out of 3 tries.

anyway, what i did was just print screen while i had a photo open, then opened photoshop and pasted the image, cropped the rest of my screen out of it, then resized. ur way is much less complicated.

Maybe because sometimes you were moving the mouse while right-clicking

Or maybe he accidentally left-clicked instead of right-clicked. It happens you know, it really does.

No he didn't. There is video at
                              http://edition.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/tiananmen/

Apparently no one today knows just what happened to the guy after he was taken away by authorities. One Chinese official was asked about him during a visit to USA, he said, “I think he is alive, not sure.”
