when i bought my iriver mp3 player, i discovered that the headphones where insanely uneven, as in cord length. from the split in the cord, one of the earbuds' cord length is about 3/4 of a foot. the other's is like 2 feet. i thought they were defective but then i found out it was happening to other people too. they give you these horribly lopsided headphones and expect you to understand how to use them. after a bit of research i found out that one earbud goes behind your neck instead of in front. no one knows this, though, so its weird. have a nice day.

Actually the asymmetry prevents strangling.
They've been commonplace here at least (England) for 3+ years like Zeus said. So commonplace that reading the first post actually made me laugh inside a bit. "it's been happening to other people too"
