Like, there was this ninja who got
ticked off at some people who kept
talking while he was trying to rock
out on his guitar, so the ninja totally
flipped out and sang at them till
        they all exploded!!! (true story.)

I wonder how one uses a car PC and I doubt it is legal to have (perhaps Iowa is different about having large screens in the driver's view than Illinois). But remember, conc works for a scientific driving simulator, and I believe his dad designed roads.
Point is, he could probably give heart surgery while driving.

            • None too proud of this piece of shit.

And I can't find a decent-sized picture of my monitor because it's 5+ years old and therefore information about it online has just disappeared, but it's still kicking ass despite taking up 80% of my desk space. If it bugs you that much, look up "HP Pavilion M70".

why dont you buy parts and build it yourself? i did that a month ago, and got amd 64 1,8ghz, 200gb s-ata disk, 2 gb ram (kingston), powercolor radeon 256mb (with tv-in/out), asus motherboard (with wireless internet), a kvm-switch (4 ports) and some more parts (like cabinet and powersuply) for under £1000. (£1000 ist much when you live in oslo, norway, the most expencive fucking town in the world..)

when you buy dell, you never know what you will get..

                      • One thing you'll certainly get is service. If something breaks, he won't have to remember what kind of whatever he bought and where he bought it from (depending on your reseller, some parts have to be RMA'ed through the retailer, not the parent company).

Basically, for most people, it's just easier. I build my own too, but I definitely don't laugh at people who'd just as easily buy a Dell. The price break isn't even that much better anymore for self-assembly.
Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

                            • Well the Dell is 3.8ghz, 2048Mb RAM, 400Gb HDD, ATi Radeon X800

I'm just too lazy to build something of such a high spec, though I built 10 computers in my lifetime, I wouldn't trust myself enough.

Yea, but I think it's an advantage not having to worry about non-OEM parts. So even though the price is about equal (give or take), you're going to have a better PC, I think.

One day I hope to be leet enough to build my own, but at this point, adding cards is about as homebuilt as I get.
