I just read an article on Gamespot about this case and it provided a few more details. Firstly, Sony wasn't the only target of the lawsuit. Microsoft was also named but they settled out of court in 2003 for $26 million, but part of that agreement includes Microsoft receiving a 10% share of Immersion.

The $90.7 million decision against Sony was actually $82 million in damages and $7.3 million in interest. The injunction on the sale of PS and PS2 systems, controllers and certain games is currently being appealed and Sony has been granted a stay to continue selling these products until the appeal is settled. The injunction also only affects sales in the United States.

rofl, Sony should have done what microsoft did, in retrospect.
Who would have thought there was over 100 million in the vibrating toy industry?
The idea that a centrifuge with an offset weight can be used to apply force to an object has been in use for decades in many fields: science, medicine, astronaut training, etc. The designers of any centrifuge have to compensate by adding weight to the opposite site of the boom tha carries the payload to avoid such "rumbling forces". I find this comparable to someone copyrighting the see-saw or windlass.

:Copyrights and patents the word 'newbie' and all its forms, currently in use or to be invented at a later date.:

With these forums and the game itself, I will make millions!

Well they needed something to distract you from the shitty game library.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

I find that the Gamecube controller's vibrate the most. I learned this from grinding on Tony Hawk 3.

                  Lies.

I had this rumble pack for N64 that you attached to the whole back of the controller. The Z button had an extender. When something rumbled, it fucking rumbled.
