    Where's JC?

    Johnny Cash of course.

Also, Sex Pistols need to be moved up, and the White Album should be first.

Also, where's the mutherfawking Ray Charles.

i dont understand how u people come across the means to listen to so much music.

dont get me wrong, music is roughly a third of my life... but how do you download/buy so many albums? how do you listen to them all enough to know them well? it can take me weeks to figure out if i like something or not. maybe even months. i could never keep a pace fast enough to be able to make or critique this type of list.

Since every available Beatles album was ranked in the top 12, wouldn't they include the other ones? C'mon... Abbey Road and Let it Be are amazing, and left out. I also think Rubber Soul is easily better than some of the crap on the list.

Oasis rules, but Morning Glory was better than Definitely Maybe. But neither are better than Sgt. Pepper's.

Yes they did, you're judging based on commercial success

Think about it, the fact that you've heard of them despite their relatively poor record sales means they've made it to a degree. And one word posts in that manner usually constitutes a warning for spam, but in this case I reckon you'd be more upset if you're post count was reset

Saying "they never took off here" would imply commercially. Usually. So he's perfectly justified with that statement.

No way, success or 'taking off' isn't always measured in sales. Sure it puts a Porsche on your driveway but it doesn't deny a band's right to be called big. The Libertines took off in a big way following the commotion surrounding their debut release, but that didn't prompt anyone to go out and buy it so you could ague were huge here before the release of their second album. The Smiths sold bugger all in their career, Morrissey's current solo album has way outstripped any of the Smith's output yet The Queen Is Dead was listed as number 20 in the poll at the start of the thread
