yeah unis this year will be chock-a-block since few people are taking the gap year option because of these top-up fees. well if you dont get anything at clearing you could always take a 3rd year at college improving AS's, A's. you wanted to do psychology didnt you? educational/clinical?

Zeus i might be seeing you in semptember

I applied for the uni I went to around June and made it to start on August/Sept so don't despair. Just do whatever you're going to do, fast.

You wouldn't have wanted to study in Wales anyway!

Well the way I see it, I've got a few choices:

                  a) I can go into clearing and choose another psychology course somewhere else. (However, the lack of motivation from the rejections has caused me to be way behind in work)
                  b) I can go into clearing and choose an entirerly (sp) different course and hope that I can get in despite lack of qualifications. (Problem is then, choosing what course)
                  c) I can choose a different course and stay at college for another year to get any quals needed. (As suzie mentioned = top up fees)

For now, I'm considering any alternative courses I'd like to do and will see the college careers advisor a.s.a.p. to go through my umm choices.

I never asked the uni's why they rejected me but I think I know. See I thought I'd be classed as a mature student because right now I'm doing a college course for mature students however they must have took my GCSE's into consideration and because of motivational/suicidal issues at the time of GCSE's, they're poor.

Probably not but Bangor was the only other uni to include child psychology in their psychology course.

It's probably changed a bit since I went through it, but I remember it was pretty stressful.

As already said, it all shakes down at clearing. The unis themselves don't know what places they have available until then so I wouldn't stress just yet. In fact, the unis don't know who is going to turn up and register until they turn up and register. So there are always possibilities for places.

If it gets to a point where it really looks bleak, you can spend a couple of days sat by the phone and call every psychology department you can find the number for. You can find places that way.

I'd be extremely wary of changing courses if you've found something you want to do. 40-50 years in jobs you don't like thinking "I wish I'd done that at uni" is a long time.

                      Good luck.

edit: and it wont help spending so much time on this board. Zeus should ban you.

OK, I've decided to apply for psych at other uni's this year through clearing, and if that fails I'll spend another year at coll and suffer the top up fees...I should actually look those up...

                          Thanks everyone for your advice.
