Free forum that doesn't use a database

If you can't host an SQL databse yourself I'd suggest using an offsite forum like ezforums.com

I don't think a large forum can be done DB-free, but then again they have those db-free news scripts.

I don't want a large forum. I want a blog type thing where 5 people are posting to each other. The only feature of a forum I want is bubbling up newest posts/threads.

Ok...here's the whole deal. Me and 4 friends are going to be sharing music. I'd like a way for us to discuss the uploads after we listen to them.

A blog isn't what I want because comments aren't really good for discussion and the way we're distributing music one person might get the music much later and comments in old posts don't get seen.

A wiki has recent changes but creating new topics (pages) for each upload seems a bit much. If everything is on one or a fewer number of pages the pages might get too big or the changes hard to find.

Using a forum isn't really want I want either because it will have only 1 section and a small number of people posting/discussing but it's probably the closest.

Unless you all have another idea.

PS I hate the ads on ezforums.

If its just a few people google groups works great. It's comperable to other group services (such as yahoo) but it's basicly the gmail of online groups.
